With the stiff fitment of barrel and the weird pellet flight, are you sure the barrel isn't bent up?
I'd take it out and see if it's true.

Wow.. That's ugly! What's with that? Are all the rifles from that order in the condition pictured? Definitely not standard operating procedure from what I've seen fit and finish wise. Hope you get it squared away. I know mine would be headed right back to you if it came like that. Obviously not your fault but it sure makes it hard on your end"Parrots"I have to agree with the QC dropping on the impacts.
i have had couple dozen of these go through my hands here in the UK and I have had one that was very difficult to get the barrel in and out and this was returned.
most disappointed with the cheek pieces on the most recent batch, while the rest were all nice and smooth and polished, looked like these were not polished and look rough/dirty, just makes the whole gun look bad. It does not effect the performance of the gun, but you just don't expect it to have such a poor finish.
Now i'm forced to buy well finished cheek pieces to replace these or send the guns back and wait a few months for the next shipment.

Yeah, right now the Wildcat is the gun to have if you prefer the 'bullpup' configuration. I look and look and think and ponder but I just can't come up with another airgun I want. That being said I have learned the hard way that I have to handle my Wildcat like it's made of fine china."Scott_MCT"Sorry you are having issues. The impact was on my short list but, I was turned off by the multiple calibers because I have NO interest in changing the barrel. Once I started reading of some problems, the Impact quickly was removed from my list. Decided the Wildcat was what I was looking for and purchased. I have an AirWolf and Cricket but I shoot my Wildcat 99% of the time and last weekend I took my first 100 yard kill which is what I've been hoping for, it was awesome. Fit and finish has been top notch, but I suspect the Wildcats are not under the same demand as the Impact. Whatever is going on FX REALLY needs to address quickly as the Impact is their flagship development air rifle. I have dealt with AOA for many years as I live very close, but they have always did me right, so best wishes on AOA sorting out the issue with your Impact.
I agree 147%."Nueces"

Any bump or torsion to this barrel and I'll have to sight it in again. And if it's a good bump the zero will go off, I'll sight it in but then shortly it wiggles (or whatever ) itself back to where it wants to be and I'll have to zero again. Now that I've figured this out ( made me crazy for about a month ) if I handle it nice ( stands on its butt in the leaned back passenger seat ) it holds its zero days on end.
I'm never buying an Impact. They are Edsels to my mind. Over engineered over priced money pits. These PCPs are stupid expensive ( due to poor distribution schemes and very small scale manufacturing ) and the 'race guns' the top boys turn out will be always problematical. We should all just keep sending them back and refusing the charges on our credit cards. Maybe they will learn.
MichaelIf the accuracy was good initially and then it went to poop... there's a good chance that when "forcefully" removing & reinserting the barrel; either the telescopic shroud was misaligned, or the pellet probe was damaged. Being that it is a TDR, the barrel should have been easy to remove (yes I understand it wasn't).
The brass barrel connector is a softer metal so extra care needs to be taken when inserting the barrel. The little notch that you see here
is what aligns the barrel & transfer port in place, & stops it from protruding too far into the magazine area. That notch must've been damaged if the brass part was sticking out more than usual.
A few questions for Frank?
Do you have any pictures of this "burr"? I'm sure FX would like to see it.
Did you remove the "burr" before trying to reinsert the barrel?
Do you have any pictures of the scratches on the barrel? There are 4 o-rings (2 before the cocking block, and 2 after) that are suppose to guide the barrel thru the frame.
I must respectfully disagree with this statement .I own a fx Royal 500 and it is built like a tank and has never gave Me a problem .It is as accurate as any rifle made in it's price range .I have no interest in fx just My personal experience .I also own several other manufacturers guns and have had good results with them .What troubles Me on posts like this is a customer has a concern about a problem with a rifle and the trouble trolls come out of the wood works bad mouthing a product that they do not own .I went back three months checking on new posts on the impact .8 or 10 new complaints on the impact.A couple on stuck barrels and a couple on probe retainer bolts and the rest were o ring leaks .and everyone of them as best as I can tell that those who went to AOA for service had their problems resolved .This is a very small amount considering the number of guns sold .I bought a new car that was a lemon and service was awful.I let My money speak for Me and have not bought another truck or car from them in the last forty years.but when I have a friend who buys a one I do not tell them They have bought a POS ."jaydoski"I was looking to buy an FX Impact too as soon as they came available... I think I'm going to have to pass on them for a while now till the myriad of problems seem to get sorted out with this model. Pretty disappointing to hear so many people having problems with it. Good luck with your Impact OP.
