FX IMPACT M3 .25cal

I cant believe this. As VETMX mentioned before, and now you had the same issue. I bet mine has the same issue. I must have done about nearly £4000 on my Impact M3 sine Feb this year. I ordered it in November 2022 and got it in February this year.
Whats worrying is, will my Impact get sorted?

You see all the YouTubers enjoying long range shooting with theirs. You start to get disheartened with problems like this. However, my FX Crown MK2 had a very similar issue and that went back too within the first week back in October 2021. When I got it back a week later, I was never told what the issue was. The gun shop reckoned it was the liner but he wasn't sure as the distributor never told him. The crown shoots like an absolute dream now. The only one that never had an issue was my FX Wildcat MK3. Saying that, the mags were quite stiff but now loosened up.
Problems yes. But after you connect with one ground squirrel at extended range its all worth it. My Wildcat and Impact are pest tools first, and target fun second.

Me too. However, Rabbits have become very scarce in the UK the last 7 years or so. Especially in the Southeast my location. People say it was myxomatosis that caused them to perish. Almost extinct. I put it down to major rain floods drowning them in their burrows.

They have only started growing in numbers in the last year or two. Nowhere near as there was before. There were thousands. I used to shoot between 200-300 in a month just using a Sub 12ft lb air rifle. Wouldn't even get that in a year now.

You aint gonna believe my luck

I have now got an intermittent power problem with my Wildcat MK3 in Sub 12ft lb

Its been sweet as a nut since I bought it in February at the same time as my Impact which is still in the workshop. I was plinking targets in my back garden yesterday when all of a sudden the grouping at 25 yards started spreading then correcting itself again. During this time, I noticed the power reading on the FX chrono was fluctuating between 698-745 FPS. Also noticed that the grouping was working fine as long as the FPS was consistant. Then it went again, then it came back and so on.

REG pressure is at 50BAR for stupid UK law. Thats stable and has not budged.

Power wheel at the rear is at 7.

What do you reckon guys. Shall I melt it down and go back to using Weirhauch?

I hear ya, a man of more experience than me on the matter. (y)
Yes he is, and he’s being very generous with his advice. He’s had to correct some of my own doings to my Impact. What I’ve learned from Vetmx’s school of impacts and PCP’s in general, along with self, mechanical reasonings, is that we all fall prey to the latest and greatest aftermarket offerings out there, and my oh my there are a lot for just the impact alone. Simple is good, and it’s taken me a long time to accept this.

Your impact, given the correct ammo and custom tune, will shoot it’s best with how it wants to shoot it’s best, not the way the YouTube guys impacts shoot. A lot of folks have a hard time understanding this. They install every part that mr YouTube guy says he’s added, twist and turn knobs, swap this and swap that, and they still wonder why their impacts don’t shoot exactly like theirs do.

Perfect example- I just put together a second MK2 30 cal together as a backup for this coming RMAC. I had the 600 barrel already on hand, but did not have the dual hole transfer port or high flow probe from Huma like I have on my main impact with the 700 barrel. Rather than throw $$ away, I installed the factory single hole 30 TP and factory probe that I had in my stash of impact parts. I didn’t even modify the factory hole on the TP.

Once the tune was set, that thing shoots unbelievably well, so much so now I’m having a hard time deciding which will be the main gun to use.

Don’t be so quick in getting rid of your impact. It takes a lot of time spent behind it, and a lot of ammo to test. But once you find it, you’ll be so glad you own one.

I’m almost positive it’s the two grub screws coming loose on the square cocking block that is attached to the titanium cocking rod. The linkage of your cocking is connected to this block. Those grub screws eventually get loose, and once that block slips on that rod, your transfer ports are no longer in alignment. I swapped both those grub screws to M4 x 6 Torx socket head screws, so I can really get them snug up to that rod with no fear of rounding off the allen socket.

Those factory grub screws will have a threadlocker on them, so plan on adding heat to them before replacing. When you do replace, do one at a time(after you get your transfer ports realigned). Use threadlocker also on those Torx screws.

There is nothing wrong with abandoning a brand of gun and finding a brand that suits your needs better. This forum is full of guys who drank the FX koolaid and found it bitter. There are definitely a bunch of guns out there that are mind blowing accurate and require nothing but air and ammo.

Guys, these are the results of my .177 sub 12ft lb wildcat mk3 power spread using 10.34gn JSB Hades pellets. All of a sudden, the rifle stopped grouping beatifully at 30 yards 2 days ago for no known reason. I'm thinking the hammer spring may be playing up. Had it since new in February this year.

Any thoughts on the matter will be highly appreciated.

Did you check my earlier reply to you on this? I’m thinking you missed it

Hello all

Still having issues with my Wildcat MK3 shot spread. There are no leaks as far as the manometers are readings are concerned. Being in the UK, we have a painful limit of Sub 12ftlb.
Here are the readings I'm getting. There going from high to low then back round again every 5-8 shots roughly. One minute I'm grouping hole in hole at 25 yards then the pellet goes off course by about 10-15mm using JSB Heavy Diablo 10.34gn.

I've checked the pellet probe depth, seals on reg and transfer port. Very weard.

Really appreciate if anybody could advise.
