When installing the gauge to the angled bracket, am I using anymore of the o-rings on the threaded part of the gauge? I put the thickest o-ring in an oblong recess on the backside of tyhe bracket, but i still have a few o-riongs left and i also have this metal donut piece. Where do these go?

Your placement is correct the rest is a plug to replace the gauge under the gun if you choose to use it in the new location.

Sorry I have no answer, but I was also eyeing this piece for long time tinkering how could I possibly add a gauge bracket to my MK2...
