FX Impact M3 Compact 0.30

I know it has been discussed somewhat but not exactly on the same exact platform. So, pls bare with me guys. I am getting a M3 Compact 30 cal soon fm UA.

My question:

Would any of you guys know if I can shoot the JSB Knockouts 50.15 gr at about 900 Fps without stressing the valve/valve seat & cocking mechanism? If yes, what are the settings on the 1st & 2nd reg, macro micro wheel & valve? & if this settings is too hot for a compact?

In a compact? Ehh, i have my reg set to nearly 160bar with a 700mm barrel and it's shooting 49gr zans at 940fps, 54gr H&N at 888 and 56gr zans at about 850 or 860fps.

You're gonna need a heavier hammer weight, slug power kit, and you're gonna have to raise that reg pretty damn high. Mind you mime is a mk2 but it already has the power block, and the 72cc plenum.

Thx, I figure, I will probably need a heavier hammer & was thinking of the slug kit as well. Oh yeah, fyi, this is mainly for hunting in tropical jungles.

Like Puerto Rico?

And just know you may have to move up to a 600mm barrel, trying to get the 50's to 900fps in the 500mm will likely give you an inefficient tune, and probably half a mag worth of shots.

I agree. While I have no exact experience with a compact set up m3 I would think of it as more of a pellet shooter for sure. Esp in .30 cal.
Yes definitely a pellet shooter, you may be able to get away with shooting vsrmint knocker slugs, but I personally have not tested their 50gr going below 880 in .30 but in .177, .22 and .25 they shoot great from mid 750fps and up

Closer to Cambodia man, am thinking of the 600mm option. But, I can also live with a 10 shot tune.

I will be using Hybrids & Knockouts 0.30, I would think that those are light slugs (if there is such a thing). Like JaceSpacw mentioned, the M3 would need to have the Slug Kit, Dual Transfer Port & heavier hammer.

Best of luck to ya man, I hope it works out for you. That's what I wanted to do originally but I psyched myself out just cause I didnt want to shell out more money on a longer barrel just cause my original plan didnt work.

Thx man. I have been told that getting the Compact to shot 50 gr at 870-880 fps is doable. Personally, I think 850-860 is achievable. That would mean a tune thats not stressing lots of elements of the gun & I will be trying to achieve that!

I think 860fps would be doable, but again you will have to gave that reg high, likely around 165bar, with the hammer almost if not fully maxed out, if you're not using a heavier hammer or the slug kit. Which I wouldn't necessarily suggestbgetting right off the bat. Double check your gun when you get it and see if it come with the larger dual transer port or not, mine did not so I opted for the huma one that is larger as well as the huma pellet probe. It will give you an fps bump.

I read that its best not to push the Amps reg beyond 150bar especially the working reg & not the step down reg. I will start off by having 170/140bar before stopping at 170/150bar. I also hope to try out the Slug Kit & Dual Transfer Port. Let you know the results when i do the testing!

Sounds doable I have a .30 Maverick 600mm shooting 50gr at 880fps with the medium hammer weigh, hammer wheel on 5 out of 7, reg on 120 for 72 shots. So mine is just idling. Also have just the single transfer port.
Each inch of barrel length gains about 11 fps
Thx man for the info, maybe I will shoot from 130 bar 2nd reg & moved on from there. I am only targetting about 23 shots on the M3 Compact. Will only test the Dual Transfer Port & Slug Kit later. I am concern about the vavle taking more pressure if i used both after parts.

Here’s what you do. When you get the gun, pull the barrel and rotate it to the slug port if it has two ports. Install the barrel. Single feed a pellet and pull the barrel again to make sure the probe seated it into the liner. If all those things check out, fire a couple shots to get things seated. Adjust your first reg to 175-180b and never think about that reg again. Set your second reg at 140b and work your micro up to find your max velocity while your wheel is on 16. Do all of this with your valve knob backed out past the last line. Whatever speed it shoots when you find the max speed with the micro, subtract 4% from that number. If that number is fast enough for you, now it’s time to start tuning. If it’s not fast enough, turn your second reg up to 145b and click the micro up until you hit your new max speed. Do some math again. When you finally get a math number that’s good enough for you, click the hammer wheel down to 13. You will see a lower velocity and notice the gun sounding a little better. Then use the valve knob to knock another 10fps off that speed. Now you’re probably at -3% of your max velocity and it’s time to start shooting groups. You can use the valve knob to further reduce the velocity another 10fps while shooting groups or you can even try going to 12 on the wheel. Don’t waste your money on bolt on crap like pin probes and limp springs. If you want a solid gun, use what came with it. If it won’t give you what you think you need, then what you think you need is wrong.

Vetmx, thx mate. You said a lot of things thats on my mind. I intend to set the gun as you mentioned & not have the 2nd reg more than 150 bar & shot the gun as is first. Lets see where it will take me from there.
