FX FX Impact M3 - Regulators not working

I have had an Impact M3 for about 2 years or so. I haven't had a chance to shoot it much recently. It had been leaking around the larger o-ring behind the first regulator, so I had stored it with the bottle off. I am not sure how much air was in the bottle when I stored it, but when I got it out the other day and put the bottle back on it had around 25 bar in it. Much less than I think I would have stored it at. I then filled it up to 250 bar and took it outside to shoot some targets. I fired the first pellet and it barely left the barrel. I then checked all of the gauges and realized that all of them were reading the same pressure - 250 bar. I removed the bottle and fired enough shots to get the air out of it. After I got it down to 50 bar or so on the 2nd regulator gauge it leaked the rest of the air out where the bottle connects. There was some moisture in it.

My question... What do I need to do to fix this? Just replace o-rings? Which ones? Are there other parts needing replacement?

Thanks for your help.

Store your pcp guns with a charge in them. Maybe not fully charged but it needs to keep the orings pushed into place or you get what you will now be dealing with.

I too have an m3, my regs failed in a different way and I just put huma regs on it and washed my hands of the amp issues. If the rest of the gun wasn't leaking on you at 250 bar, it could be soon enough.

If it were me I'd rebuild the regulators and see if it leaks, and if it does from anywhere else I'd just rebuild the gun completely to avoid multiple teardown and degassings.

If it makes you feel better my impact has been gassed up since the release of the m3 and it's had no leaks... Just failed regs from adjusting down in pressure while gassed up. Even 5 bar did it.

A FX Impact stored without air is a bad thing. I would replace all the orings. If you don’t, you’ll be chasing leaks until you do.
disassembling bullpups is such a pain in the ass too. If you're cracking them open and disassembling, might as well change EVERYTHING. because nothing is worse than fully assembling, charging, and "hisssssssssssssssssssssssssssss" Rinse repeat.

It's not that bad, my marauder is more annoying than my impact thanks to the crosman style air tube full of barely deburred holes.

I did not realize it was best to store the gun with the tank full. It does make sense though. My thinking was if I stored it with the tank disconnected, I would be able to reattach and shoot quick(ish) next time I had the time.

What is the recommended kit for rebuilding it? Are there any other parts than just the orings needed?

I have an M3 and before that an M1, neither gave me problems. Generally, I store them after a shoot near reg pressure. I don't refill them until the next shooting session as I believe it puts unnecessary stress on the regs. I let them sit a couple hours and climatize to the room temp before marking the pressure on a piece of blue tape and stick it on the rifle to track any leaks. Picture is of my Boss as an example with the tape, although I think the reg is set around 150 on that gun. If you're not comfortable tearing it down yourself, you could send it to a dealer of your choice and have them do it.

That looks like what you need.

Fear not, ive had a marauder charged every day of its life other than when orings at the guage block failed, to this day since 2009. My impact has been charged since the m3 came out, as is my dreamline and an aea. They don't leak down and they're ready for a shot because I'm always running out back to pop pigeons that try to nest by my solar panels.

Im not telling you this is the only way to do it, but merely providing some anecdotal evidence that your stuff should be ok. Orings that shrink back and change dimensions are really annoying and they can let other things happen if their moisture and electrolysis happening where you can't see (marauder 😂).

I have captain oring and huma kits. Enough to rebuild it 3x and I vacuum sealed them in a foodsaver bag with a low level vacuum.
