Happy New year to all members here.

On this occasion I further refined my match grade improved trigger of M3.

In the following pic you can see that the rear part of the trigger bar was hanging. It didn't look nice and also it was preventing from installing the trigger guard plate.

After further refinements now everything is fine. I have also used BSA trigger blade just to have a couple of sets in hand.

To me it looks nice and fits well. Aesthetically looks much decent.

Pics are here below:

I hope you like it. It's not hanging now.

At least I am pretty satisfied with all this project as Impact trigger had always been a problem to me. Being used to better triggers.

Happy new year to all the members here once again.

I tuned the trigger as per my liking for bench rest today.

Very light 1st stage that always comes back and resets itself if I don't break the 2nd stage.

2nd stage weight I have kept at around 7 oz.

The only drawback is that when I apply Safety and pull the trigger it gets stuck a bit. But by cocking the gun all becomes fine always.

As I personally do not use safety option and always keep my guns on Fire option, there is no issue for me.

Further I see that some target guns like RAW TM1000 etc. don't have safety option.

Hence not an issue specially in bench rest.

To me the pros of this trigger are much more than cones.

Happy New Year to ALL of you.
The safety switch comes to a play in gunclubs, especially when you are not alone on the line, and the RO or SO is not familiar to you gun.
Not saying anythin about "safety" on the trigger or action mechanizam... if you knock the gun by accident...what can go wrong?
Stay safe all the time, you know the Murphe's law?
Happy New year.

It's not that safety doesn't operate now. If I keep the gun on Safe it doesn't shoot even if I pull the trigger.

But when I remove the safety, the trigger gets a bit stuck. In order to make it rework, either I have to pull the cocking lever or I have to push the trigger forward before switching from safe to fire.

Even in fire position I have done the some experiments of giving big jerks to the gun to see if it holds or shoots.

Nothing unsafe as I have found.

Stay Safe friend.
Sometimes some extra steps are built into a design (regardless of FX like in this case) and that is the Insurance saving the manufacturer. Any alterings by a user = means you are on your own.
I am a New Products Development - design engineer, I have been trained for this. North America is a lawyers country, you cannot imagine how far people can or willing to go - to make an insurance claim.

I agree to the insurance point as these days I am winding up an Insurance Company in the capacity of liquidator.

But such insurances normally face rejection clause as you have mentioned whenever we make any changes to the design.

FX Impact is such a versatile gun that a lot of people have contributed to its success at the level Impact is right now.

If no one had changed any design we wouldn't had been enjoying this gun at this level today.

Every new thing and any changes have its own pros and cons.

It's upto us how we take things and how well we do our R&D before bringing in a new design.

Arguments from both view points have weight in my eyes.

Basically since in my design change, I have converted the wheel shape OEM sear to an adjustable sear that hangs on a pin. This allows the trigger an allowance to the 1st stage to work great even with very light spring.

That makes a whole lot of improvement.

On the other side the same allowance gives a bit of negative effect on safety switch. It allows it a bit of play.

That is all about it.

I think I modified my Impact soo much that there is no single piece in original state how FX originally machined.
People were asking me for some tricks, but I am reluctant to talk about if the guy doesn't have he's own machines. Really don't like the idea to be responsible if any bad outcome.
True. By just sharing something the other person if not in the know properly can do blunder that may be harmful.

So self medication is not good. We should consult a competent doctor, similarly everyone cannot do all these modifications.
