FX FX IMPACT M4 SNIPER PELLETS & SLUGS .25 cal

I have just found a sweat spot with the JSB heavy’s in 34grain it’s 880fps and at 50yds it was down to 1/2” groups ,tried the zan 33g and the H& N grizzly on the same settings and they were running at 900fps point of impact out slightly .I think you could dial down on macro to get away with 26grain slugs as the ,26grain hades were pushing out 920fps maybe not much in it .I kind of think it would just be better to find a pellet or slug they like and stick with it and dial in for hold over at various ranges using a ballistic app .

i found I had to run the fx at 125bar reg pressure to get the 34grain JSB to 880 fps ,16macro,4.5micro and about 4.5 on valve.Yes maybe need to try slug port
You have the sniper? 700mm barrel

Didn't get to shoot yesterday
Ups came late setting it up this morning going to shoot some strings starting at 20 then 40 yds .
Out of the box the reg is at 105ish had pyramid do the 10 for 10. 820 fps out of the box.
Neilson 26.8s will be here today as well
.going to tune for pellets first
Then give the slugs a try

Yes it’s the sniper with standard superior STX liner ,out of box 105bar reg,16 macro ,3 micro and 4th line valve .was running 820fps with hades /26grain but would only give 720fps with heavy’s 34 grain .my reg is now on 130bar ,macro 16 and micro 4.5 with valve out slightly to approx 4.5 .Getting now 880 fps for the heavy s
Pellets .I think they are set up for the 26 grain fx pellets / JSB but if you want to run heavier pellets you will need to increase the reg pressure .

Finally got to shoot a few strings today.
Left the reg at 105 ish just to shoot turned the power wheel from 16 down to 8 3-1/2 on micro and the valve stayed at 4. 821-825
Not sure if 39-degree temp affects them seem to shoot OK.
Turned the reg up to 120
Didn't touch nothing same
Settings just reg 885-887
Shot 3 of the 26g hybrid slugs not bad not good but within 1-1/4 in at 40 yds, the Zan 26.5 g not so good more speed for those but I think the fx 26g hybrid slugs flew pretty good considering.
Need a little more speed prob 900-930 maybe
I will say couple clicks in the scope it shot pellets well at 40 yds 3/4 hole.
Also got an omega 18 cu ft
Tank with the new c3 valve and flexible hose they come with tall narrow female foster make filling easy.
1st target is the 3 26 hybrid fx slugs 2 out of 3 were close I was just curious how they flew at that speed 885-887 fps 3rd top right corner.
2nd and 3rd targets were the Jsb King Diablo 25.39g those shot well so far at 883-886 i think the Groupe will tighten up
with a little more speed.
i wanted to try the Jts 29g but decided to find what the jsb 25g like first
slow and steady one at a time get some seat time.
it's also pretty quiet with this hollow moder#### i opened to check for clipping found some lead dust.
overall, I like it i may go to 125 on the reg going to do more plinking Tomorrow.

Nice group for pellets. JSB or JTS?

I have been doing some research and it would appear the small port on the barrel is for shooting standard pellets /26grain .The dual port is for slugs and the heavier pellets such as the JSB heavy’s .I was shooting 880fps with my settings /130bar reg,16 macro ,4.5micro and 4.5 valve which was ideal .I have some Zan 33grain slugs which were running at 890fps and what I can gather is by removing barrel and rotating 180 degrees so the double port is at the bottom and refitting you should gain 30fps without increasing the reg pressure any more .with my settings I am getting 960/970fps with 26grain pellets well over the recommended 880/900 area.It will be interesting to see what the double port does achieve .Ideal speed for slugs is 900/1000 and the experts say 150 bar reg pressure .we will get there eventually but I rather think it may be better to stick with a specific weight either in pellet or slug .Hopefully the dual port may allow me to use the Zan slugs and the heavy pellets and I will be able to dial down with the macro when I want to use the heavy pellets .

the girlfriend heard me talking about getting a 700mm barrel kit needless to say she called and purchased it for my Bday.
she asked them to call to make sure she got the correct one.
so, I will shoot 34 -36g slugs with that when it arrives.

I'm going to save you a lot of money, time and air....get AEA's both slugs and pellets. You'll thank me later.
The pellets are awesome. Any and all of my guns love them and the outperform JSB by a mile. The slugs though?! I can’t get them to shoot straight. What speed are you running them (I shoot them out of a .25 impact 700mm)? I ran them from 930 up to 1000fps and nothing… 1:16 slug liner.

Nice one let me know how you get on .The speed on the Zan box /33grain is 930FPS with a reg setting of 150bar so I am thinking i maybe able to reach the speed if I switch barrel to the dual port .But pellets will kill vermin in 34grain out to 100m and they seem accurate enough ,the guy I watched last night on you tube was a expert with the fx been shooting years and was a trained air smith .He said run the slugs between 900/1000, but kind of hinted at the heavy barrel for dedicated slug shooting but did say you will be able to use the superior liner with lighter slugs ,Zan 30grain may be the way to go as I have some 31grain Grizzly running at just over 900fps so with the port changes over may be bang on .

Not all liners are created equal. That’s why people will say that they won (or lost) the liner/barrel lottery. My superior standard wouldn’t shoot slugs whatsoever. It’s a laser with pellets but wouldn’t shoot hybrids or 29gr NSA no matter the speed/tune. My slug liner on the other hand shoots slugs just fine plus 34gr AEA pellets 1/2 inch or better at 50y all day long. You can get lucky of course and the only way to find out is to try. There is no “rule” though so you might as well be disappointed.

Thanks for your input ,much appreciated I have recently spoken with supplier of FX and he recommended to change barrel ports over to twin port for more air but steered me in the direction of the heavy liner if I was shooting the 34grain and slugs ,

Slug port will definitely help with speed, not with the question as to whether your liner likes slugs or not. If you want to shoot heavy slugs make sure to get the slug liner (1:16 twist rate) and not the heavy liner (1:18 twist rate).

well, some good some maybe not so good news the 1/16 liner i ordered got sold out. that was quick
they asked if id like the 1/18 and i got to thinking you know what I'm going out on a limb.
i shot 26g slugs and probably won't go any heavier that 30-33gr the 26g hybrid shot ok i thought with the stock 1/24 barrel.
so i said send it. I'm going to split the difference and give it a whirl after all little more twist with a lighter slug may be just my ticket well see.

Yeah for light ones the 1:18 might treat you well. Plus they are cheap enough to give it a whirl and sell easily.

Thank you , will see how it performs with the 34JSB pellets and I will be happy with the 34grain slugs /30 even , hopefully it will accommodate them but only £89 for a heavy liner if not .

You will be just fine with the 1:18 and some hefty slugs. Mine has been great up to 38.5g Nielsens (heaviest I have bought so far) and probably will do better with even heavier slugs but I havent had to try them. The mid 30s Nielsens are fantastic and still have a great BC.
