Well this specific poll seems to prove that there are those who can correctly tune and accurately shoot an Impact and enjoy the rifle and then there are those who cannot and bitch.
I will put my Impacts up against anybody’s. But I’m not oblivious to their shortcomings when I bought them. Neither is Mubhaur. We don’t bitch, we fix. Well, I guess we complained a little but that’s what motivates guys like us. Sorry if we offend.

The tranquility of irrelevance affords one the serenity of indifference.

Very well said! A lot of people hate on FX because they are the best and it’s not even close.
No one hating on fx. I made my name cause I love the fx impact. It's a good gun. But it ain't the best. There are way better guns put there than fx. People are complaining about reg creeps and slow shots cause it is happening. Stop kissing ass and wake the f up. Lmao. I love my impact but I've experienced slow shots, reg creeps, leaking, poi shift, etc. For a 2k gun, we shouldn't be fixing it to get it to shoot good. If the fx gun is the best why the f are people trying fix them so much? We see posts about problems with the impact daily. That speaks volumes. I dont kiss ass. I tell the truth like it is.

Every Airgun will need to be fixed at some point. The Impact is like a Ferrari. Sometimes they need maintenance. I’ve owned many different brands of airguns and FX simply just out performs them all.

At some point in the ownership, you ask yourself why the AG that “out performs them all” has so many fixes for sale from the manufacturer. Harmonic tuners, tensioners, CF liners, probes, hammers, springs. Can’t have your cake and eat it and those things aren’t being sold to patch wonky tuning. It’s not hating, it’s just figuring out that you got stuck in a toxic relationship. Then you can start dating doodad-free Miss .22 RTI Mora, who’ll drop a 40grain slug into a squirrels nuts at 100yards even when you haven’t fondled her trigger for two weeks.

Agree..ppl think folks hating and complain when they post something wrong with the fx guns (impact). There are many things folks having problems with it. Poi shift thats why they made the cf sleeves and barrel tension. Reg creep that's why they have dual reg on the m3. Now they made the brass piston to replace old plastic piston. Impact is prone leaking cause so many o rings. I believe the fx impact have over 30 o rings. Which is overkill. No other guns have that many o rings. More o rings means more likely to leak. When the impact released their gauges is trash, that's why they switch to wika. 1st reg on m3 having problems and many are removing it and replace with a pass through plug. List can go on and people will say we hate fx. Lol

My Panthera is bone stock shooting 40 grain ATP kings, and I’ll head shot squirrels at 200 yards like it is nothing. Same thing could be said about the BRK ghost with all the add ons it has. If there is a market for it they’ll make it. Your point is rather moot. I’ve had a P3, those RTI guns are total duds IMO. There is a reason why FX is usually on top in competitions. Different strokes for different folks as they say.

My Panthera is worse.

Damn! So all the Panthera owners have to put up with this cold shot stuff too? and just dry fire few shots before loading the gun?

As much as I love my M4 and will never sell it, I'm not sure i would want to buy another PCP with this annoying feature 😅

I'm no fan boy of any particular brand, i'm only loyal to my wallet. lol if it's a good gun that meet a certain criteria then i would buy it eventually. Absolutely love my Umarex Notos and Avenge X too!!

The Panthera shoots slugs so good that it doesn’t even matter lol

The DRS is known for the cold shot blues also. Just read the many page topic about it. And yes I have one too and it was a cold shot animal crippler. But I fixed it without bitching and explained in the topic how I went about it. Is the gun tuned the way it should be for truly optimal performance? Maybe not. But when you like certain features of flawed guns, you find work arounds. It’s truly nothing to fight or argue about. If you walk on water with every gun you buy, that’s great. Maybe we can go fishing sometime.

So, is this cold shot symptom mostly a problem with Impact?

or does it also affect all any FX releases like the Wildcat, Maverick, Panthera, Crown, and King?
I never heard a Crown guy complain about anything except POI shifts. But not even a ton of that. The first shot blues with that gun is a good question. My guess is if he doesn’t have significant reg creep or at least has his HS set to compensate for a little creep, the Crown is fine.

I have been running the reg at 120 bar in the last few days, there's a 5 bar reg creep overnight, 20~30fps off on first cold shot slinging NSA 23gr slugs tuned for 940fps, can't validate POI at long range. Setting higher HS or Valve couldn't compensate for the cold shot bug this time around, it would work at 70 bar at the reg prior, but not at 120 this time. i might have to get me a heavier hammer to run the reg up 150~160 bar for the 35gr and 38gr NSA slugs to see if the symptom persist, going to try to tune it out, even if it's just a bandaid, before i shell out $170 for the "fix".

Personally, I could put up with this from one gun, knowing what i know now i would still buy the M4 again if i get to reset and do it all over again, there's far more pros than cons. But i do not want to buy another PCP gun with this same secret sauce built-in. 😅

That kinda suck ass at the price they're charging for them. Most of us know there's no such thing as a perfect gun, it's just the matter of pick and choose what you're willing to compromise, hopefully in due time things would get better and more options will be available on the table.

Here’s my take on the issue. If you find the ultimate setting on your gun that is as accurate as you need and more importantly consistent day to day and you have first shot or shot blues, it may not be the end of the world. If what you use the gun for does not require a grab and shoot gun, just join the dry fire gang. I was a member of that gang when I returned to the platform. I knew I had to dump four shots before I got down to business. But seeing as how only my most expensive hunting rigs required this caused me to want to fix it. I don’t get out of my truck and dump shots with my RTI’s, Taipan, AAA Evol or any others so I just didn’t want that life with my MKll’s and M3’s. But because of some of the features I felt I needed with an Impact, I could live with it even if I couldn’t fix it.

Where your gun performs at its best in relation to the plateau and the knee will determine how bad your first shot blues are. And that’s with the plenum parts too. Mubhaur part or peek disk. The peek disc nets the same results as the full plenum throwback to the MKl plug. But the peek disc must be done right. I made a bunch and gave them all away otherwise I‘d hook you up.
