FX Fx impact m4, why did they got rid of 1st reg?

Perhaps you can tell me why it’s so important to have so many shots on tap. Makes no sense to me when you can fill up from a tank in 10 seconds. Sure, if you’re walking the woods, you don’t want to carry a tank, but in that case surely 100 shots is more than enough. Just curious.
maybe a back pack you can carry your 60 minute tank Tethered to your pcp
XS Scuba Standard Tank Backpack

I plow through few hundred shots in one session frequently, getting to shoot more continuously without disruption is a nice feature to have, same reason why i prefer higher capacity magazines so i get to keep shooting longer, and I don't have to swap out the pre-loaded magazines as frequently. The 28 shot magazine in .22 is one of the main reason why i went with M4 over all other PCP out there in similar price range. i would never ever buy another PCP gun with magazine less than 15 shots, ever!

I don't have a tank, refill from CS4 compressor takes about 9~10min from 100 to 250 bar if i remember correctly, it just seems like it took ages! lol Eventually, i probably would want to invest in a tank and bigger compressor but for now, the 580cc tank is my hotswappable spare, so i could simply swap out the 480cc and keep shooting and don't have to refill, for a longer shooting session.

Maybe what I really need is to get a 9L tank and just tether the M4 off of it, for non stop shooting fun, with least amount of interuption. 😁

Faster to refill from a scuba/carbon tank than to swap a bottle.

And I worry about 7 to 8 shots per fill with a 700cc bottle at 250 bar with my m3:ROFLMAO: I run a huma hp reg at 190 bar with the first "gimmick" reg deleted.

In all seriousness. I would not want 300 bar to potentially end up by my face, especially with parts that are not designed or made for it. Just because you have the first reg there to drop the pressure going into the gun doesn't mean it can't fail in the future and send the full 300 bar fill into the gun.

Be smart, not cheap, and buy a larger bottle to tether the gun if you need that many shots. At least wear some good glasses.

First, FX has made the info clear! You may wish it were different but it isn’t a misprint. Of course, many retailers will be happy to sell you an aftermarket bottle! None of them are saying you can run it with 1 reg at 300bar with no problem. Of course, if you listen to Mr sub-0.5” group, you’ll also hear that his reg shows not even 0.1bar of difference from 300bar to 150bar. Again, defying the laws of physics. All regs show variation in accordance with input, which is why FX recommends two if you use a really wide range of input (to 300bar). There is much to learn and if you listen to folks who know their stuff, instead of rabid fanboys or greedy salesmen, you’ll get more out of your purchase. Part of that would be to heed the advice of Troy and other and stick with 250bar. Again, for many reasons, including the longevity of seals, the juice ain’t worth the squeeze.
All i can say is i ❤️ my 300bar bottles and having over 200+ shots. :) . Tlhe 7000 psi air guns are on their way. As soon as they get DOT certified I'm gonna get me some of those as well. I'm not necessarily an FX fanboy, I just enjoy great products. I ❤️ Daystate as well. That's another group of awesome products ;). "More is more" and i like more. 👍 Just sayin.

Thank goodness, despite all this bean counting, and cost cutting, FX still laser etch's fine details right on the side of the rifle!

You know,...very important things like " MAXIMUM PRESSURE 250 BAR" , right there in BOLD, right next to the gauge!

Otherwise, a uneducated, over zealous user, might attempt to fill to 260, 270, 285, or even something wild like say 300 bar, then latter complain that FX's are junk, and that the quality of FX's regulator and valve assemblies, have gone down hill, and are not working properly!

These FX Impacts should be priced in the $1K range, half of the cost probably went into marketing.

But I'm still glad i bought the M4 though, it's just so much more enjoyable to play with and buttery smooth to shoot, super easy to tune, responsive, accurate, versatile, agile, compact, absolutely love the way it look and feel, it's a fun little gun. No leak, no POI shift, no reg creep or anything....it just work right out of the box. At least nothing break yet, and i intend to keep it that way. ;)

It’s a video and there’s editing. Guys get confused and think it’s live action. Even I could make an average gun look great if I make a video about it. All my misses get edited out. Oops, chronograph spit out some weird numbers, let’s try that again. Gun shoots it’s best numbers between 220b in the bottle down to 190b, so let’s do all the shooting between those numbers but don’t mention it. Until it sinks in that watching this stuff is a waste of time, there will be victims and disappointment. But another gun is sold and it’s a win for manufacturers.
Yes you're right! also every farm they get to they setup by zeroing from a bench first, this happen every time, it's not real world stuff is it, When I go out hunting, I don't seem to enough room in my backpack for a zeroing bench, but then my 20 year old Rapid 7 doesn't need rezeroing every time I use it.

I have a FX bobcat mk2 .30 and that has been a great rifle, it's had the odd leak but nothing too bad, but my FX Impact M3 has been the most disappointing Rifle I have ever owned, I have managed to get it to shoot ok now and I don't have to keep rezeroing it, but that should be right before it leaves the factory

Too many joints, too many O rings and a silly barrel mounting system. there are better rifles out there.

You must have a special one

it's amazing with all the problems the Impact seems to have with some people that it has won so many competitions

Even more amazing when new fans keep on growing and all major retailers are carrying and selling them, but somehow continue to run out of stock quickly, not to mention with more and more new aftermarket parts available for the Impact. :ROFLMAO:

The M4 is my first FX but certainly won't be the last, they definitely gained a fan for life here for sure. 🥳

The newer system with the x barrels are a little more sensitive as to how you set them up, how you torque the liners, adjustments on the reg/hammer/valve ETC. The biggest problem comes when someone fiddles with them day one and then cant make them Perform better than 1/2 inch at 50 yards. Bullpups in general take a bit of getting use to, especially lighter ones like the Wildcat. Even the Leshiy2 can perform moa if you can shoot them well. They are definitely not everyone's cup of tea. I'm sure there are more satisfied FX owners than not, I'm one of them.

When you push them hard enough and put them into some of the top shooters hands nothing amazing about it. FX isn't dumb they know how to market a gun.

But what speaks louder to me is a did a thread about your most consistently accurate airguns and with tons of people commenting not a single Impact. That speaks more to me than which gun wins competitions.

Guys get great and popular confused. Marketing is what sends them flying off the shelves. It’s not a bad gun. And it is a really good pellet gun. But it definitely is a popular gun. Marketed as a must have or dream gun if you will. Consistency with being great or really good with slugs is its true Achilles heel.
tell that to Matt Dubber at the RMAC (slug competition) 2019 winner
