FX FX Impact M4

No dice… I tried hybrids, H&N, NSA, JSB KO and others. None grouped as nicely as I would like them to and not even close to pellets and I tried them anywhere from 900 to 1050. Couldn’t get a sub 1 inch group at 45 yards…

Velocity isn't the only factor that will affect the accuracy, and there are a few ways to get to the same velocity.

Try this, keep your reg at 120 bar, use just enough micro for the hammer to get those hybrids to fly at 920~930fps (you can start at Micro 2.5~3, go up or down to get to that speed), now close in on that valve from line 4 toward 3.8, 3.5 or even 3.0, little bit at a time to further bring the speed down closer to 900~910 fps. Now how does the Hybrid group at 45~50 yards?

Funny, that’s almost exactly my turn for 34gr pellets at 885. 118 bar, micro one click above 3 3/4 and valve a little below 4 (9.53mm to be precise). So yeah, basically tried that one as well for the hybrids since I used that tune as basis and ran hammer up an down from 4 to 16 (the tune has the macro sitting on 12 so that I can go up and down for other pellets)… but thanks! I’ll get the 1:16 liner and see whether I can get pellets flying out of it, I prefer the 34gr anyway for a flatter curve…

Sometime, even a minor adjustment could make quite a noticeable improvement on accuracy and grouping, what if you up the reg just a hair bit more to 125 bar, and bring the speed back down a bit with the hammer and valve? if you've already tried all different combinations and still not getting any better, it could just be liner's luck of the draw.

Didn’t adjust the reg case in the end the pellet/slug goes through the barrel at a given speed. Where the speed is coming from is not really decisive, or is it? I prefer to tune to the knee at 95-96% if not a bit lower since I want the power coming out of the reg/tank and not the hammer and rarely max out my guns so the 118 bar is a vMax of 928 for 34gr… it got the hybrids north of 1000 so not sure how more pressure but less hammer/more valve could help?!

You are almost certain to get much better results with the 1:16 liner. Sorry the tunes didn't quiet work out for ya.

Thanks! Really hope that it’ll do good with heavy pellets as well. If not I’ll be finally pushed over the line to get a dedicated slug gun I guess… no one tell my wife that swapping a liner is a 5 min exercise ;)

Yeah if it doesn't work out for ya swap to a .22 or .30 cal barrel witht the heavy liner and that will solve your slug issues 😉

Personally I have one in 25 cal and it works for me. You can always change to another caliber by getting a new mag, probe and barrel for a few hundred dollars. I have it it 22 and 30 I use 30 for coyote and 22 for birds also with 22 I turn the power down a bit when I don’t want to cause damage to buildings I’m shooting birds off of.
were do you find them for a few hundred all i have seen is 349.00
