Have been looking to pickup a couple spare mags for my M3 in .25

The mag that came with it is 28 rounds in .25

Every major seller I can find (including direct from FX) says that the most current mags for M3 are 25 rounds in .25, not 28

Am I going crazy here? Mine is 28 rounds. Pics attached for proof.

So how can I be sure to get the 28 round mag, if they even exist other than this one unicorn that I have... 🤪

Many FX M3 .25s came originally with 28-round mags, jamming problems caused FX to re-design to 25-round. Owners with jamming problems were able to contact FX-USA for replacement under warranty. Orion the Iguana Hunter designed a perfect 25-round replacement wheel for like $25, I bought one and converted my 28-round FX mag (they didn't want it back.) Have not experienced any jamming in either 25-round mag since. WM

Makes sense, thanks. But also first I had heard of it. Interesting, I have not had a single jamming issue with my 28 round mag after about 2 tins of pellets or so.

I'll checkout Iguana Hunter. Thanks all.

You are very welcome Sir. JMHO =It is at times very difficult to keep up with all of the different rolling changes the many different manufacturers make as they work out the kinks in quick releases and on the fly changes towards improvement haha. I honestly feel more R and D should be a priority over quick to market plays lol. My opinion is biased towards the consumer end of things of course haha:coffee:🤣

My new MK3 came with a 28 round mag, I just bought it a few weeks ago. A friend of mine just bought a new Stud mag for his MK3 and it works awesome. It has a bearing inside and it lines up the bullet to the bore perfect. I just ordered one for mine...they are the same price as the factory mags. They also have a very neat loading system you can buy separate, It comes with a pellet sorter and four mag loaders, it works awesome too....I just got the mag for now but I plan on buying the loader system for it later.

I just noticed....look at the pic above of the back of the mag....look closely at how the pellet is positioned in the hole of the mag......that's the reason I ordered a Stud mag., my friends Stud mag when you rotate it fully loaded, each pellet is perfectly centered in the hole of the mag and the mag fits to the end of the barrel perfectly centered. I think that's one of the reasons for a lot of the so called flyers......

I have some Orion magazines in .22, They are amazing but if you are in a hot state. Just make sure to keep them out of your car otherwise the plastic will expand and render the magazine useless because it will not fit. Carm also makes some really good magazines. I bought 3 in 177 for my impact. Only because Orion does not make any in 177 for the impact.

FX-USA agreed to replace, under warranty, any 28-round FX magazine that jammed, they made it clear that if working would not qualify for replacement. Got a chuckle when some new M3 .25 owners, having re-designed 25-round FX magazines shipped with guns, complained of not getting the "high-capacity" 28-round ones. WM

If this happens to you reach out for a replacement because the plastic I'm using should hold to the heat, tested in the FL

About the 28 vs 26 vs 25 rounds. A bit of history: the original FX in .25 was released with 28 rounds. It was too much and when I designed the first wheel I realized the cutout for the pellets was so close with 28 rounds that the circles were colliding with each other making the final cutout below the center line and this was the main reason while slugs were dancing and going sideways.

I realized with 26 rounds the cutout was perfect so my fix was nothing else than using 26 instead of 28 rounds.

After a while FX fixed the issue and well they reduced to 25, maybe realizing the original mistake and they were trying to play safe and didn't use 26, wich it would have worked fine.

Then I changed my design again to 25 so my wheel mach FX and people with speed loaders could be happy..

end of story.....

Gotcha, it happened about 8 months ago and I ordered some new ones afterwards. The body of the mag bulged, it may have been left in the direct sunlight, so that's on me. But thank you, I very much appreciate it!

Thanks for the info. I actually purchased some of your mags in both .22 and .25 earlier today. Looking forward to getting them.

but even if that happens, reach out, and if this is something it might happen because you are exposed to high temperatures just let me know and I'll print your magazines with a super high temp filament I have here.
