Tuning FX Impact MKII .25cal - first tune

Did my first tune today with the Impact in an effort to get it quietened down as I can't use a moderator. After reading and picking people's brains on here I set the Power Wheel on max and tightened the screw down until I couldn't turn the wheel (14.50mm) and then backed it out to 15.0mm. I then set my reg at about 151bar and turned the valve adjuster to the second line (7.4mm). On MIN I'm getting 786fps with the 25gr .25cal JSB King 25 pellets.

Power Wheel 1 is 821fps

Power Wheel 2 is 856fps

Power Wheel 3 is 911fps

I didn't try any of the higher settings except for MAX and it was around 1060fps.

It's a very efficient tune as I'm using around 1 bar per shot (less on MIN).

I'll have to play around with the valve adjuster a bit to see if I can knock down the spread a bit.

All in all, I'm happy with this tune and it's pretty quiet on MIN compared to what it was before.

I do have an FX chronograph, but sometimes I still like to write it down the old way.

Sounds like you may have the Impact "dialed in". Listening to the output can tell you a lot about how it is tuned. I like to take notes sometimes as well. I haven't since doing the full mods, so the slug kits results are not shown in my note taking example.

You are shooting at high velocities. That has to make more noise. I have found that as you adjust the valve adjuster at a certain point the gun quiets. However that might not be where you want to be for accuracy and velocity . It’s like any other gun slowing the bullet down will result in a quieter report .
