Fx impact power upgrade?

I see some people posting up that fx is shipping them the power upgrade kit for the impact. But when I called them and ask they say they do not sell them. When I asked why they are giving them away to other people then, they couldn't give a good answer. All they say is that they are not selling the power kit for the impact and only sell parts for the impact. My question is, why doesn't fx sell power upgrade kit to people who wants it. Are they just giving it to people they know or like? But to the common folks like us that needs a power upgrade, we can't buy it. Why is that? If it's already available, why not sell it and make money?

Mod Edit: Moved to PCP Airguns forum

My understanding is that some dealers got some upgrade kits for those people who bought the last mk1 Impacts as an incentive. I asked FX about getting kits for the rest of us and they say it will be another 4-5 weeks.

If you are right about 4-5 weeks I can wait. I just hope it's not fake news and never release to the rest of us. We are willing to pay for the upgrade. It's not like we are asking fx to give it to us for free.

OK gang here is the scoop. I just got off the phone with FX USA and the word is that ALL POWER TUNE KITS FOR THE FX IMPACT AND OTHER FX GUNS ARE ON HOLD. This comes down from on high. Apparently this happened last Thursday during a meeting between FX USA and FX Sweden. Apparently FX is going to be incorporating some of the changes in future Airguns. I was informed that the kits may become available within 6 to 9 months, but that is a guess. I'm not a happy camper.

Some of these parts were made and sold by Ernest Rowe and not FX. Is that maybe what you’re thinking of?

No no...Made at FX USA by head technician Ernest Rowe.

I'm with 2fast2furious, when FX tells customers who want to buy "no" and then comes on this forum the same day and gives them away to those in the click it's taking a dump on loyal customers. It's like saying "you're not good enough" or "you don't rate". Favoritism is just bad dirty business.

Have a look @ Matt Dubber’s last video. About his new toys.

One of them is an impact with modifications, but he is not allowed to say anything about it. Some “secret” upgrades.

He also says that FX Sweden will start talking about it around September 2019.

Go figure.....I just ordered an impact mk2 .30 Sniper Version 2 weeks ago. To be delivered around September. I HOPE that the secret upgrades can be used/modified on the earlier models. Otherwise i just bought an “old model” gun.

And if modification is not possible, i sure hope they start selling the high power kits !

FX moves so fast technologically and feature wise, this will always be a problem. Besides, can you imagine the nightmare of ensuring all version of the Impact are really compatible with the new features, and researching exactly what changes need to happen to my early Gen 1 with the Gen 2 and Gen 3 models that'll be introduced in a year or more?

For all the growth, they are still a small company run by the engineer / entrepreneur / founder who's trying to keep it all together, innovate at a rate we've never seen before, and keep customers happy.

My gun does exactly what I was told it would do, so no matter what I can't complain that the gun doesn't function properly. The X Barrel upgrade worked beautifully. I was never promised power upgrades. I'm happy for now, and will probably order another Impact in 6 or 9 months. Till then, I'll just be satisfied with the best gun I've ever had and happy that FX is dragging the rest of the industry kicking and screaming into the next generation of long range, accurate guns.

There’s more than enough information out there and even drawings of the parts needed to hop up the power . The rear block , valve housing and valve seat are FX parts that you can modify. The hammer weight looks simple enough to make and the last piece is the plenum and associated fittings which are available on Amazon . If I had the time , I would make up a bunch of kits and sell but I simply don’t have the time . That doesn’t mean someone else out there couldn’t do it , and I’m sure the kits would sell just as quick as you can make them .

If they want to sell "slug liners" especially in 30 Cal, I would definitely want the power mod. I think they know this, hence the delay in the release of the slug liners for 30 Cal. As it stands, my Impact performs as advertised for JSB pellets, no issues and commendable quality. But I think the move to high BC slugs without the stability concerns of diabolo pellets will drive the hunger for more velocity.

It appears some of the airgun manufacturers overestimate the need for air efficiency in their products, while many shooters with their own compressors and air tanks are more than willing to sacrifice efficiency and dump mass quantities of air... The Airforce Texan is proof of that, yielding only three or four shots per fill with heavy slugs in .357/.457 caliber. In the USA at least, extreme sells, and with the effective power wheel on many FX guns, you would at least have the option to turn it down!

I can understand the power upgrades to shoot slugs, heavy slugs, and heavier slugs. But if you’re only going to be shooting pellets, what’s the point? As long as you can get to about 925 to 950 FPS with your gun, you’re golden. Anything more than that shooting pellets is not beneficial IMHO. Oh, and also in the opinion of a couple of other guys named Physics and Math...

I dont think many if any are doing the upgrades to shoot pellets.

That makes sense. But I saw a LOT of shooters at RMAC shooting pellets at over 950 FPS. Just sayin’. ;)

Maybe desperately trying to buck that wind haha, I see your point. (Yes I know faster doesn't help)

I can only speak for myself with shooting slugs 35gr in .22 and 47 in .25 not many guns stock are gonna get those at or above 900.
