FX Impact... Scope rings height?

" Quagmire" Was this on The Impact............I noted you mentioned " You wanted to keep the scope as low as possible " Is this statement the same as what I am saying simply common sense...that is: keeping the scope as low to the barrel hole opening thus reducing the traj up and down to meet the cross hair (scope application) When using a gun with LOW to barrel Open sights ie close range .22 cal Rise of trajectory is Not an issue ...but rather the fall of traj. due to gravity...simply addressed by X hold over!....Many her are in denial of this simple physics equation IMO!

It depends on the application. I'm mainly going to be using my Impact for pest control between 30-85 yards. With my scope mounted that low it will take less correction between distances. If I were shooting heavy slugs from a bench at longer distances it would make more sense to go with adjustable rings to help account for the drop. Not everyone would find my arrangement comfortable. I'm not a big guy, and as a result I'm more comfortable with lower rings.

Many here have eluded to " Comfort".......Not An ISSUE............I do Not care about Long shooting sessions i.e. paper punching......I am concerned with the best shot in a quick shot hunting situation..............It would seem most want comfort and that comfort will come at a cost as in RAISING the scope HIGH.... I am using a Lowly Leupold $900.00 scope with cross Hairs Only....other scopes weigh close 1 & 1/2 lbs where the Leupold is LITE @ 13 OZ albeit No mil dots.

Hope you don’t mind me adding another slightly different twist on your question...

Anyone know how the height of the rail vs the “cheekpiece” on the Impact compares to that of an AR15? I have an Impact M3 (my first PCP) on order, and I am trying to make sure I have the right height (for me) rings on hand when it arrives. I have several AR’s so very familiar with how high I need the scope centerline to be above the stock for me for proper cheekweld.

Alternately, can someone tell me how high the top of the picatinny rail is above the factory “cheekpiece”?

thanks!!!

I bought my new MKII just a few weeks ago, thought I'd be fine with med rings so went that route, regretted it as soon as I picked up the rifle to look through the scope. Ended up buying a set of FX no limits rings and getting it set up as optically zeroed as possible, now my cheek weld is spot on and I have plenty of elevation to dial for those long shots. The problem was I watched too many YT videos and saw guys with the aftermarket scope risers on their guns and thought the FX rings would be too high without the fancy riser, but I didn't notice most of them have the riser bottomed out.
