Tuning Fx impact shroud fitment near receiver...

:::::REVISED::::Noticed a poi change pretty drastic...Just checking clearance near where the shroud enters the receiver just under the top pictany rail looks a little thin on clearance..Can someone take a pic of their impact x mk2 .30 cal near that spot so I have reference on all three sides please....:::UPDATE::::I found a pic I took of the gun when I first got it..The top clearance is def alot less..Besides bent components could it possibly be something else..I do not think It was bumped ever to bend it..If it is bent is is it possible to straighten..How/who/what would be the best method.

Unsure of the fix, other than replacement thru FXUSA. But once your golden invest in one of these thru smwengineering.uk.com

If your original parts end up still true and in line, slap one of these on that way you’re concentric from one end to another. Hopefully it’s not a banana type(exaggerated) you’re having to deal with. On occasion I bump my moderator against something in my tiny man cave when removing my Impact off the rest, and have leaned my barrel against the work table at a corner when I’m working on another pcp, and my point of impact never changes due to this clamp.

these can be had with or without side pic rails.

Just thought of something- if you’ve had your gun apart, did you by chance re install the front block that the barrel first enters upside down by chance? That hole is offset in that block, so I always made it a point to mark a reference mark so I knew where top was always, and which direction it faced.

Im going off of memory, and could have sworn that the entry hole is offset to the block. I’ve never purposely tried to see if I could even shove my barrel all the way thru with the front block purposely re installed incorrectly so I don’t know if it’s even possible to make that error without catching it before it enters the cocking block.

check it out, and good luck. Let all know of your findings so others can benefit.

This gap has closed ...Im pretty sure if i can get the shroud off Ill be able to do a test to roll the sleeve and barrell on a glass table and visually look for a bend...Seen a video from Mr. Rowe on using press to gently roll n press the bends out apparently is what fx does before final assembly..Im not home right now but Ill take the whole barrel assembly out. Can not find anything on taking the shroud off though...Only info I can find is on taking off the older versions not the impact x mk2.On a side note I re zeroed the turrets and its driving tacs 1 hole pretty much at 50 yards 5 shots prone no wind and bi pod.Ill test it further soon.Just curious of why the poi change and free floating shroud gap closed up almost..Must have bumped it unknowingly...Would like to fix it without sending it off.Read a comment on Mr Rowes straightening method where a guy said an an archery aluminum arrow straightener is worth a shot for the liner and sleeve.Sounded like a good idea if i do have a slight bend.
