FX FX Impact STX Slug Tensioner kit

Well if anyone is planning on getting a .35 cal impact I can tell you from personal experience that you can’t order replacement barrels in 800mm for the slug liner. I right now am having to buy a $400 complete tensioned barrel kit just to get a .35 cal 800mm heavy liner sleeve as I had a double feed impact inside the barrel. I just purchased the gun a few months ago, had been very happy but learning that FX won’t replace a stock barrel for you is incredibly frustrating. This may not be the answer you’re looking for. I did have fantastic accuracy with my tensioned barrel kit in 800mm. I have heard from friends on AGN here that when they upgraded their guns got much louder as you typically lose the shroud. It is possible for newer stock guns like my M3 and the new m4s to have a tensioned barrel with a shroud. I would purchase an aftermarket carbon fiber barrel shroud and use everything in the tension kit except for the carbon small barrel cover. Then use your carbon fiber shroud over the straight black barrel housing. That way you get the best of all worlds. I have seen the carbon fiber shrouding only on bullet central by the way. Hope this helps.

The FX tensioned kit worked out for me shooting the .22, the .30 didn't really make a difference. In .22 it got rid of POI shift and everytime I shot whether it was 30 mins later or 4 hours later even with 10-15 degree difference, I always hit my mark. But as stated above it will be louder so you will definitely need a moderator.

I tried the HUMA tensioner kit first cause it looked better and seemed to be more bang for your buck but it only created more POI shifts for me.

I'm currently looking into getting a 500mm Bullet Central shroud, yes they make it for 500mm and I'm mostly looking to get it because the 500mm FX shroud is not tappered towards the block. Therefore restricting my ability to open the valve adjuster all the way.

So you going to use the 500mm with the tensioned barrel kit?
