Fx impact wheel showing signs of wear

I've done darn little design work ( nothing in airguns and just a couple of hobbie things otherwise) but many years ago I was told ( so I might have been mislead ?) but I was under the impression the modern auto-cad ( might not even be the name now?) programs can and will suggest/figure/other compatibility of various metals in your design.
Maybe this isn't true at all.
Maybe said program is very defective and listing totally incorrect info on what materials are best to use for your application. And the designers don't know any better?
Naturally the old school method of making a prototype ( several ) and having the USED a lot by as many people as possible - folks with huge hands, small hands, highly experienced shooters, total novice shooters, ...... has worked very well for other companies.
As with the Indy ( you've got to admit the pumping linkage was the worst material possible on the originals) perhaps and in another six months or so once all the boo boo's are discovered and remidies figured out by customers the design will be fixed?

"Jasonintn"I am really wanting a Impact in 25 but with all the stuff showing up just making it hard to drop the cash n one. .... x's 2 ,I was chompin at the the bit for a silver 22 cal impact, but just like you I am leary of having problems, & having to ship back & forth for repairs, (i am in Illinois )so I am probably going to wait for a while to see how the issue's are remedied, roger

Don't know if I should reply here or to the new thread location....but
As an engineer/machinist, this particular issue looks like it should be addressed by the factory. It shows an unanticipated wear problem, which will obviously worsen with use. This may be acceptable wear on a low end gun 300- 500$ range, but should not be tolerated on a 2K gun. When I eventually receive my Impact, I can see a few easy (for me) fixes: Turn down the eccentric OD, send it out for hard anodizing, then press on a stainless steel sleeve, that being my first thought. if the end of the spring follower is not flat, make it so, or even increase it's surface area as much as practical. An easier fix would be to just order/install a new knob every year or so, depending on usage. There is really not much functionality lost, other than the gradual change in spring tension as the pits get deeper. You don't see this problem on other guns because this is a "new" way to adjust the hammer spring tension for production guns. As I mentioned in another post; if the Impact stays popular, it looks like a good business opportunity for someone who is handy with machine work, to specialize in repairs and upgrades for this gun......Not me; I'm too old and burned out.

Warranty claim or full refund ?
Comments like this are not productive. Perhaps you could suggest a solution for the manufacturer? Something like dipping the end of the screw in a plastic material, or adding a delrin grommet, etc?
Pardon me but I thought this forum was for air gunners to share advice and gain from others experience. My comment was addressed to the owner of the FX Impact, advising him of his options as I see them, based on my experience in dealing with duff guns.
