At first I thought my reg gauge did not have enough reach, until I realized the stock gauge body actually went below the circular opening in the plate. Realizing this it became apparent (on mine anyways) that the small diameter portion of the WIKA gauge's backside will go below flush, while the largest part of the gauge diameter back side remained away from the plate when fully tightened. Meaning the ONLY part of the WIKA gauge touching is the opening at the threaded end against the seal and the threads themselves. You should be able to see daylight from the side between the plate and the larger portion of the WIKA's back face. As for the reading orientation, mine are both off too. The bottle gauge is actually off by more than 90 degrees. The reg gauge on mine was sort of close.
