FX Integrated Harmonic Barrel Tuner

What now you want me to find some random video I saw on the tube? Well I guess I can go look for it no promises though.

Edit;

Yes, the tuner has a carbon fiber shroud I had one sent it back because it was defective so they sent me another defective one and I returned it for a refund. Bad finish on a $180 part to go on my $2200 gun I don't think so. New stuff should look new.

Like I said, you can just leave the first part of your moderator on it and remove the rest to make it fit in your case. I can't find the video but it's out there somewhere. You need to leave the first part on because removing it and putting it back on with just a little bit different torque would effect the harmonics of the system.

What is your honest opinion about the barrel tuner I have a 25 cal,700 mm M3. had it about 2 months now and not very happy with the groups at 80 yards. I've been up and down velocity, reg pressure and hammer spring. I got sub MOA groups with my 25 Cal Bobcat mk11 and Impact MK11 JSB kings and MK11's. I get very good ES and SD (10and 3.1). Speed from 800fps to 940fps but poor groups.(1.5 to 2) I even tried NSA 33.6 slugs with same results. I have the stock superior liner using dual TP.

I'm still in the tuning phase with mine on a 700mm MKII .25cal and would say that it definitely shows promise with the ability to tighten up your groups. My current testing is at 30 yards. Now that I have an idea of where the tuner should be I'll move out to 50 yards and then 100 yards. Pretty hard to get a calm day where I live to get out and get it done. Here's a pic of the difference moving one of the large hash marks can make. I have the carbon fiber sleeve installed also.

Admittedly I don't shoot a bull pup as well as a regular rifle, but going away from setting #12 and going back to it I see the same results.

I basically have no luck with slugs past 35-40 but i thought i would try it again with the tuner. After some tuning i went to the range and find out the slugs are now grouping very well at 100 yards. I was new to the range and stayed in the steel target section. They grouped very well for me now when they basically seemed to be all over the place before. I'm really starting to like slugs now!

How are you using a slug liner?

I am using a superior heavy liner. Zan 30 gr slugs. I never had luck with the 30 gr H&N slugs but had some lying around and put them in with this tune at the home range They seem to show some promise now, but not before the tuner. I will take those to the range the monday after and see how they do. Hopefully i can get early enough to hit some paper this time.

Here is a sample of the H&N slugs at 50 yards with the tuner. I still have issues with my eye placement behind the scope so i tend to get 2 groups with 1 point of aim. Then this was also a little late at night and kind of quick but it will give you an idea how tight i got my slugs to. This was recorded on a little security camera and cropped And I maybe able to tighten it more with some more work but i think it is on me to become a better shooter not so much the impact. I'm not great, but for me it is wonderful that i can still get better.

Sorry a bit of a pain to watch so i sped it up.

I am getting groups much tighter at 40 yard than your group #12. Its the 80 yard groups I am not happy. I got 10 boxes of 34.9 NSA's today. But now I can not find a superior heavy liner. Mike at UA said they held 10 Harmonic barrel tuners for the shooters' at at Rocky Mountain Airgun Challenge but no one used them. Hmm?

lol not like you can expect positive results as soon as you screw them on. You have to do some work.

I read a comment from YouTube on Integrated Harmonic Barrel Tune by Up North Air Gunner. One of the post stressed the importance of barrel indexing. So went out back and started the process. Retuned to 888FPS, Sp 9,SD 2.8, 1st reg 130bars,second reg 97bars, Micro 8,macro 2.9 approx./ shooting JSB MK11.Temperature 82 degrees, wind 3mph. I finally got to 10 0clock and bingo, almost hole in hole. I moved to 80 yards and shot almost quarter size groups over and over with an occasional flyer. only 1/2" out. I do not think I can shoot much better. I am a believer!!!!! I do not have a barrel tuner on my gun.
