FX FX King 600 vs FX Impact M4 Sniper in 0.25cal

Hello guys!
I have a bit of wondering between those two guns. I already have DRS Classic in 0.25cal, but the shots count is the main problem for me. I shoot mainly benchrest for fun and some bird pest control at over 50 -70yards. I am not a tech guy and prefer out of the box set up or a small tune ups. I see M4 have extended tuning options (well explained already), slug gun as well. On the other hand the Kings looks more like a gun, can shoot slugs, good hunting airgun.
So, i am a bit of wonder which to go next (or not since i have DRS Classic)? Or maybe another high quality gun in the price range of the FXs

This is going to depend on what you like more than anyone else, and I would even say money…

The King is, as you stated a rifle platform, so the ergonomics are different and can be better for bench. It is long and skinny… The Impact is tall and short and can be harder to balance without a wide bipod. That being said, it still does really well on the bench for a lot of people. Both adjust mostly the same way, with the Impact adding the valve adjuster.

I have owned several Impacts, and I felt like it needed a lot of extras to become better… cheek riser, buttstock adjustment, bipod rail, and possibly a way to keep the barrel stiff depending on how you transport the rifle. The King may have some of those issues depending on your stock, but the plenum/barrel shroud should help the POI shifts more.

You don’t see many Kings come up for sale, but you see Dynamics/Pantheras, so you could possibly try that route if you want used/cheaper. Lots more Impacts for sale used. If I wanted a .25 Impact, it would be hard to pass on the one JoePolanco has for sale in the classifieds, as a known person and it has most all the accessories you could want.

In the end, I think it is you to figure out which platform you like more for you. I have tried lots of both platforms and prefer the rifle style for the bench much more, but the Impact has been one of the best bullpups for me at adapting to the bench with enough addons. I prefer to buy the rifle style with those addons already built into the factory rifle.

I have had a few Impacts. No real problems until the MK4 variable FPS reared it's head. Switched over to a 600mm King. Super accurate and super consistent. Zan 25.5's at about 920 FPS all I need out to 100m. Don't see too many gripes about the King on the forums. BTW.....easy to tune. Start on low settings and work up. I am on macro 9, and micro on 1.75. Reg on 95.

Initially i was going to the King, but... the DRS Classic arrived :)
I was with Weihrauch HW100S .22cal, so the shots count of the DRS shocked me a bit. Well, the power, the filing of the light DRS in hand is perfect (mine is Walnut Grade 2). But i shoot mainly on a bench or some pillar/rest.
Actually I am from Europe and in my country there is no restriction on PCP power, so, my DRS is Classic, 700mm with MK2 and SHP plenum - perfect set up. Powerful, light but some the lack of more shots is bothering me. I have the big magazine of 16 pellets/slugs, and one magazine per fill is a bit annoying.
I have read some threads with King issues out of the box and this is something that has stopped me to buy one last year. I don't know if FX have fixed the issues or not on their production lines. That's why i wrote that i'm not limited to the FX's now - i prefer solid PCP in .25cal that will serve me long time with proper maintenance of course.
But still i like FXs and i want to go with them if possible :)

I just don't want to drag myself again into the marketing trap :) The Kings is awesome looking and powerful in .25cal.
But the newest tech is M4...maybe. I saw that M4s inherited the issues from M3s, well known and manageable. But what about the Kings issues (if any except some o-rings).
Mainly my question background is going to FX King from DRS Classic or going to Impact M4 from DRS Classic?

Unfortunately I can't make the decision for you. All I can say is that the King gives me total confidence, and that counts for a lot. Believe me I am an ultra fussy sod. I understand from the UK importer that they are nearly there with the MK4 's warm up problem! This should never have been the situation. FX need to get their QC under control.

Your use case is mostly bench rest and some bird pesting at 50 to maybe 80 yards. You would like a higher shot count for bench rest…

I’d suggest a .25 FX Crown 600. Install a 580cc bottle and you will have 60+ shots (likely more) using 25.4g pellets. Crown is a proven platform and will give excellent accuracy with pellets out to 80 yards and beyond.

You already have a slug rifle with your DRS.

I have shot a King but do not own one. I do have a Panthera 25 and it is basically the same gun mechanically. I do not like the King because of the stock, specifically the grip. It is too large for my hands.
I would go with the King. I own 2 M3’s and two Pantheras. The Pantheras are super easy to tune as long as you make adjustments in small increments and are capable of very good power with no modifications. Both of mine are superbly accurate.
I like my M3’s because the bull pup design makes them handier to handle in the field and are also quite accurate. I don’t have issues with my Impacts, but they are not modified either.
If I had to get rid of 2 of my guns? The Impacts would be looking for new homes.
