FX King block damage

I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this. Had the King now for a few months and noticed a pretty big extreme spread and POI change. I keep my settings the same and clean the barrel when needed so I dug deeper. Looks like the hammer chamber in the block is getting debris possibly from the pellet probe assembly and getting jammed up with the hammer. When I took out the trigger, there was aluminum debris all over it. I took a few pics with my bore scope.

It's possible the hammer, which should be case hardened I think, slamming into that lip of the aluminum receiver, could chip it with enough force. I'd expect it if the aluminum was made from cast, but it should be CNC or water jet from them.

Otherwise, whatever got between the two surfaces would have left some marks to the hammer face.

Its just the way you lay the story out it seems highly suspicious

So according to your story, you have a highly damaged part inside your gun that you took apart and you only want that part replaced and that fxUSA not even look at what caused it. There are no pictures of any debris that may have impacted the seat or other damage in the gun. There is no other info given, yet you ask if any of us came across this issue 🤔.

Replacing that single part is not going to cause the damage to stop happening to it again unless that issue that caused it to happen is resolved. And unless fx already knows what the issue is, I doubt they will just replace that part. More than likely if they already know what caused it, they will either add other parts that caused the issue or tell you not to do the thing you did to cause the damage.

It's a free country so believe whatever fits your fancy. If it makes your day, I had filled the gun with helium and shot rocks out of it. And for the record, I had already removed the debris before I started taking pictures. There was a piece left next to the value after cleaning and was able to get that.

being the hammer is hardened, marks on the hammer from hitting aluminum is unlikely. Slight blemishes maybe.

Right. I was meaning if anything was o. There beating against the aluminum between the hammer, that it would have scratched the finish on the hammer. I guess it's possible it wouldn't, but it would have to be a pretty soft steel. Lead or brass would just turn to mush between the two surfaces. I think the hammer hit it and chipped it. Could just be a manufacturing defect on the receiver.

It's no wonder you had issues. 😵 Man that must really felt bad cocking it. Yeah I would have stopped the first time I cocked it back. If not the first time definitely the second time that's definitely not going to be a normal feeling when you cock it back.

Ps rocks and airguns don't play well with each other.

I would have also just fixed it and called it a day, I would be more concerned about your trigger and whether the safety works properly now.

I'm just not getting a clear picture in my head of where exactly the damage is located.
Yeah, maybe you need to draw it in crayon for me.
Now junk like shavings I have seen in MANY guns over the years. So I'm not saying yours did not have it!
And some is expected especially when new breaking in, but this was excessive. I pulled out patches with it on from the hammer bore etc. Also the pellet probe carrier with the holes drilled and tapped had burs left.

Well. That picture is inside an area and no reference to exactly where.
I'm trying to understand and NOT throw bad vibes at you!
Yes. Maybe I need a drawing since I'm not about to take my FX guns apart to help you.
I extended a hand. You can take it or drown. Your new to AG's. I'm YEARS into them.
Not the best out there but I'm not the worst.

I'd still like to know EXACTLY where the damage is located.
I do believe you had swag and junk in the Gun from the get go. It does happen!

or that in fact.

There's no way I can picture that damage at the rear of the Hammer/spring area as that's just adjustment stuff back there.
So has to be at the forwards area.

Now that is exactly where I suspected! Thank you!
So anyone saying you should have felt something when cocking?
Ignore that!
The wrong bit of crap gets in that area? That is not detectable when cocking!
All ready seen an FX with that VERY SAME THING! In fact? I own that Gun!
I bought it used so can't say it was a factory issue but it did go undetected for YEARS!

With chunks of garbage in that area? Yep. Gonna get different hammer strikes so accounts for your issues.
You can clean that area up if FX don't come through.
I've seen people put a small o-ring on the hammer carrier that strikes that area.
But those get trashed REAL fast.
Was also thinking about the o-ring, but yeah, that won't last, maybe cause dragging or pieces breaking off. FX did say they would take care of it, but for reason they don't, I'll take care of it. 1st thing i would do is debur everything than measure all clearances and depths. I curious how much clearance is between the stop on the block and the hammer shear lip.
