FX liner to solid barrel

If only the bores on FX liners would have a consistent diameter from the breech to the choke and consistent land/groove profile.
I’ve only tried once to do a cast lap with an FX liner and the bore geometry was so bad that it got stuck. Have done a few dozen barrels of other makes and have not experienced that before.

It was a .177 STX.

I am sure you know that the FX liner "tubes" are pressed from outside that makes the land and grooves inside a tube. Any inconsistencies comes from the tube material and not a process. The temperature during a pressing process projected to a temperature during the use can move the tolerances, also the consistency of the material composite (ratios and structure), and many more influence.
Me personally did a firelap on liners also resizing my pellets, I was looking for the tools to resize the slugs as well but just cannot justify the $.

All the more reason to use a solid conventionally rifled barrel.
