FX FX Maverick .22 settings ....a little help needed .

Hello , I have a Maverick VP , .22 cal with a 600mm heavy liner to shoot slugs .I put a power kit with a 14 grams hammer . After changing many times the hammer weight, regs pressures , preload screw lenght...I'm a bit lost and it seems that all these changes put the system out of balance. Actually my 1st reg is on 130 bars , 2d reg on 120 bars , hammer weight 14 grams and preload screw is 6mm out. Despite this I cant' achieve the correct speed to shoot 30 grs slugs , which should be around 930-950 Ft/s . Moreover , when I decrease the hammer power wheel the speed increases ......something must be wrong , but I don't understand what . Thanks for your help .

You have the heavy hammer weight hitting a medium valve/reg setting. Turn up the front reg to 150-155Bar, and the rear reg to 135-140Bar and start your hammer wheel on low. Whenever you are adjusting a tune or setting up a rifle you need to make sure your hammer adjustments are actually in control of your speeds. Most of the time people cant figure out an FX its because they dont understand the relationship the hammer system has with the reg and valve.

I use the 14g hammer in my .22 Mav . I'm not trying for the high power that you are. You do need at least 30b difference between regs for sure. Im running my 2nd reg just over 100 bar and putting out 45-47 fpe w 25.4gr pellets . Nothing seems out of balance , and I'm getting a good shot count. The only thing I've changed is the hammer weight. I would suggest lowering the 2nd reg and adjust your HS to your peak fps then tune it up from there.
Did you rotate your barrel to the slug ports ?

This shot string was with the reg set under 100b .

I believe any of the hammer weights will handle 120 bar on the working reg that you have. No need for a heavy at 120 bar. The problem is exactly as mongoose explained. The hammer is hitting the 120 bar pressured valve way too hard. I hope people reading this that dive into these guns get that just start with what you have and see what it will do. People are just obsessed with power kits. Don’t just dive in wade around and get the feel a bit.

You cannot get 30 grain slugs higher than 960 with 600mm barrel, set pressure at 145 and tune with hs for 25 grainers
