fx maverick -- does anyone make magazines that don't rattle?

Since mags are designed for a wide variety of pellets they have the room. You could get an Orion mag and print your own chamfered edge in the lid to take up that space. Or hot glue the inside of the lid of your FX mag to fill the gap. You just have the be really thin with glue so it doesn’t touch the gear part. 3D printing a piece would be best.

Does anyone make magazines for 30 caliber FX Maverick that don't sound like a big loud baby rattle when walking with it or when cycling the action?

LoL What a unique request as most people want to fit a variety of longer slugs/pellets and lighter ammo with differant head sizes in some cases haha.

Why don't you try making a temporary gasket that is affixed to the lid out of cork/paper/masking tape or a cardboard cereal box material with a hobby knife and see if it jams or restricts the cycle of the tensioned mag first. Kind of a homemade prototype so to speak. It will most likely restrict you to use of a more specific length of ammo of course but if you are good with that then cool. Just a suggestion of course lol.

What are you stalking or hunting that this interferes with . Just curious is all. Maybe a change in the way you carry or sling your pcp could be of some help if this was the scenario haha. I am obviously totaly in the dark here and just guessing it is obvious haha.

The only reason I suggested the above material was for a sound dampening property lol I am sure there are better suit materials like a thin mouse pad material for a computer or such as I assume you do not have a 3d printer lol.

Another suggested material though not as quiet could be a milk jug or other thin plastic to take up the space in a temporary test gasket affixed to the lid.

Thank you for tuning in to 35 minute crafts haha lol.

Perhaps I should have posted this in the hunting section. This might sound sarcastic or flippant, but it's not intended as such. Remember in "Rambo - First Blood" when the sheriff asks what the big knife is for and Rambo says "hunting". The sheriff says "what can you hunt with a knife?" Rambo says "You name it." So I'm not Rambo, but if I was, I'd like a knife that does not sound like a giant baby rattle.

In thick brush often times game will appear just around the next tree when walking a game trail, or walk right near you when you are just taking a break for water. If I rattle my Maverick -- game gone.

I only shoot slugs, as I said. Specifically 30 caliber slugs. That means that the diameter of my ammo is 0.300 inches. I don't want to add material to the "lids" of magazines that would limit the overall length of the slugs I use. All I'm hoping for is a magazine for a 30 caliber air rifle that has holes that are also 30 caliber in diameter so the 30 caliber slugs are held in place by the sides of the hole and don't rattle.

Laugh it up guys. So far it doesn't feel funny and I'm a bit shocked that this seems like such an "unusual" request.

haha I would have expected no less of a reply from a fellow so anal about the rattle in the mag To respond with a Rambo knife example haha. In CQB training I would guarantee you to be a muzzle down entry type even in a stack formation lol. I have stalked and hunted my whole life as well but do not encounter the same problems as you are due to positioning and being aware of what will cause the sound lol.

Any who Mr. Grumpy pants have a great afternoon and I hope it works out for Ya ! I humbly apologize for the offense you have taken and digress as it does no good to argue with Rambo I would always loose haha. All of my training is null and void compared to such an amazing fellow as John Rambo.

I hope the best for you and yours seriously. Later tater  (y):coffee:

Proof of I was being serious in suggestions but I was thinking only in length lol if side to side wiggly find an insert to affix with adhesion or use nail polish to take up the gap. haha

If you take the time to cut a gasket out of a pellet tin piece of packing foam and lay it in the recess of the lid it eleminates all of the rattle but would cause drag in cycling which is why i was suggesting the cereal box type of a homade gasket on the top.

on The humor side watch more MacGyver and less Rambo !

And To answer your original inquiry/question = NO! I do not know anyone who makes or custom fits your mag to your specific slug of choice .

Rattle on the Orion mag comes from extra space allowing for taller ammo. The ammo is not dancing side to side because the tolerances are tight.

If you have a special need just reach out and I can alter the design and build you a stealth magazine but warning it will be designed to specific ammo. Use something else and either you get rattle again or it won't fit.
