FX FX Maverick Sniper .22 bellevillie washers corrent sequence

)()()()()(). The one on the left can either go top or bottom doesn't really matter. FX doesn't match their Belleville's for size, it's hit and miss, if you want a more accurate #2 reg, then McMaster Carr, buy about 50 of them and match them up. I did a little study on them and this is what I came up with. Measure as close to the edge as you can. My theory is that if they are evenly matched they'll all work evenly and repeat better.

I also recommend that ALL contact surfaces get a polish, including the I.D.'s, and a LIGHT coat of Mobil 1, and no, it won't explode.

I’ve read several of these posts about the Belleville's, so now my questions.
#1- your chart is confusing to me. A stack of 0.42” washers gives a max of 100 bar, the 0.48” a max of 125 bar, and 0.53“ limits the reg to a minimum of 117 bar? Am I reading that correctly? What would be the max with the 0.53’s?
#2- how exactly do you polish the washers, especially the ID’s? The outer surfaces I can figure out.
Thanks in advance.

#1 yes you are reading it correctly. I have zero idea how high wasn't going to try to find out, my GUESS is in the range of 150 bar. Just take some fine paper and roll it up and work it through the holes for a bit, a rubber cone Dremel with some semi-chrome would do it also, but be careful. Because they move on the shaft, if they are rough they can bind, if you have the brass regulators a super careful polish on the shafts and on the top contact surface, a few videos on you-tube on it, be careful. You can get the really fine paper off of Amazon

Thanks. Maybe I’ll practice on washers from McMaster, but I’m already at 150 on the second reg. Gives me just over two magazines in my .30 Maverick.
Already have fine grit paper I used to use for knife sharpening. Have to look, but I know it’s at least 2500 grit. Polishing paste on hand, also. Too nervous to mess with polishing the regulator. 🙄

Trust me, not a big deal, you'll need some REALLY fine paper, 5000. The Bellevilles aren't THAT critical, but smooth is good. If you want higher you'll need to either add some washers, or buy a ton to get enough of the thicker ones, they are out the outside of the tolerance range. Somewhere I read what the limit was on the FX regs but I've forgotten. You went from .22 to .30 different critters. If your SD is high you might want to cut back on your Hammer Spring Macro slowly, you MIGHT get more of a shot count but it's dependent upon the size of your tank.

I went from a 600mm, .30 to a 700mm, .30. Thanks for the guidance. Yeh, 5000 is FINE. :)
I would use that for the brass, just for a nice polish job, life's too short to do the washers with it, not sure it's necessary. Some make them mirrors, frankly I didn't see any real difference, just erroring on the side of just in case. Back on the old days of video tape, I made tooling to burnish the tape, it was crazy.
