I bought a Maverick Trs rail. I have a gen 1. And I noticed that with the shroud screwed all the way in the rail would not line up like that lip on the underside was hitting the rail. So I unscrew the shroud buttoned up the rail and screwed in the shroud on till it bottomed out on the rail. Is that ok or has anyone ever experienced this?

Does it affect the accuracy of the gun? I'm having a hard time picturing it as I'm not really familiar with those rails.

Do a before and after group please, I'm curious. I'm trying to figure out how to reduce the weight of my Mavericks, I'm thinking of drilling holes in the air tank and the chassis.

There is a huge difference between .0625 and .125". Can you use a pen to point to where there interference point is?

Literally a 1/8” to long. And it is interfering with groups. When I tighten it up groups are good but once it looses up shotgun style.

Ahhhhh thanks So is it a gap or actually hitting? Hard to see, but I'm seeing a gap of barely nothing.

No it’s actually hitting the TRS rail. The video the PJ Wisconsin Air Gunner did his 500mm has like a 1/4” gap and the 700mm is like a 1/16” gap.

You said you were able to tighten up the set screws, it'd be impossible if it was off even .010" if I'm looking at it correctly, that's the front of the gun, if the rail you took off was correct then they 'may' have miss drilled the hole but it's all CNC and that's rare and both pair would have to be too far forward, so if you put it on and look down the holes that hold it on, they they'd be off, but if you can see then evenly then it's something else, what it is I haven't a clue.. I just looked at my two Mavericks, You are suppose to put the top rail on first THEN tighten up the two brackets, this gives you your alignment. For giggles can you send a link to that video.

Oh I see, they have two different versions, the $250 one has the gap in the front you are referring to. They don't have an image of the $240 one.

yeah so the $250 one is the full size. $240 is compact. The screw holes lined up correctly went on even. At this point I can get a 600 mm shroud or cut down the 700 1/4 inch and eliminate the problem. I’m thinking since it’s a gen 1 they may have made some changes. Because the factory rail didnt come with a 20 moa rail. Do you know it the rear cap is a screwed on or pressed.

Well if it fits there is no way in H that it's out of whack, the spacing between the two mounts and their screw holes is very precise., technically clamped on is very precise. Both of my Mavericks had 0 MOA rallies BUT they were suppose to have 20's, FX sent me new rails.

I had the same problem with mine. I took out some material from the rail with a dremmel so the shroud can be screwed all the way in.

I’m way late to this party, but I just got the TRS Standard and ran into the same thing (I bought used and didn’t realize the difference until trying to get everything set).
I’ll have to try my hand at the dremel. I take it you just shaved a little off one side?
I’m curious though, did y’all have any issues mounting your scope onto the TRS Rail? My scope fits just fine on the factory rail, but I can’t get the front ring secured to the rail - the front lens makes contact preventing a flush seat on the rail (56mm objective lens).. Just curious, either way I’m off to buy some new rings.

I bought the TRS rail for my Maverick not too long ago and it’s the same as others. The shroud hits the rail underside and it does affect accuracy. Haven’t decided what to do yet, but it seems that there was a change in later shrouds or something else.

I forget who I contacted but they said that fx shortened up the shrouds right before saber tactical came out with the trs rail. When I converted gun to a 600mm 30 cal from 700mm 25 cal the new shroud fit perfect

Thanks for confirming. I’ll likely take a dremel to it and see what I can make work. It’s not an issue, I still have to wait for the new scope mount to arrive before I can fully change out that top rail
