FX FX Mavrick Grub Screw C53

Hello All,
There is a grub screw named C53 behind the barrel lock screw. I am wondering what it does and how far it is supposed to be screwed in. What purpose does it serve?

Thanks

I believe it is there because that is how they drill or machine the port. Once that is done they tap it and put the grub screw in to seal it.
That is supposition on my part but i could see no other reason for the hole.
You are correct, as I said it also seals up the ports a little but it does require a sealant, it does leak a touch of air and I'm prefer to have my expensive compressed air going behind the pellet. :D

FX USA told men when I had mine was just to put that white seal tape and just screw it down until it bottoms but back it out so it’s free from touching the barrel and that you can remove and install the barrel without damaging the o rings. The only screw you need to worry about is the very front one to remove and snug the barrel

This is correct. The purpose of C53 is to plug the top port as a result of the block fabrication. If you inadvertently tightened or removed C53, it shall be resealed. C53 shall not contact the o-rings or transfer port of the barrel.
