Tuning FX MK2 power wheel problem

To follow up on Qball’s answer, which is absolutely correct, here is a copy from a thread that I researched when I had this problem on a Dreamline Tactical some time ago:

”Here are some reasons why no speed difference between min and max on the power wheel.

1. the valve adjuster is over adjusted CW on min so increasing PW to max has little affect.

2. HSTA preload is over adjusted to a given reg pressure—-> reg pressure speed max out on min so no speed increase in max.

3. Excessive lock tight on C9 will jam HSTA so adjusting has no affect.

4. On high power mods with high reg, max preload on max PW there will be slightly speed change to min on PW.

5. PW is controlled by the VA, Reg pressure, HSTA preloud not the other way around.

Think of it this way. HSTA maxed out is like your PW=Max is really Max++++ it’s holding the valve open too long where you waste air with no increase in speed for that reg pressure. And as such....
PW5 is like Max+++ ie same velocity
PW4 and it’s Max++, same velocity, etc.
Finally you get to true Max velocity down around PW=Minimum.

So you back off the HSTA while at PW=MAX until the speed starts to drop and that is the true Max at that reg pressure. Your valve opens and shuts with no wasted air

Now, PW=5 becomes Max-1

PW=4 is Max-2 etc.
and each lower number is lower speed.
