Fx owners

The bolt is closed?...... Does the rifle feed/perform flawlessly? Some wiggle is normal.....and necessary. You notice airguns for the most part do not employ any type of magazine lock like a standard firearm, most of them are designed to "float" slightly but not fall out under normal usage. While the bolt is closed the mag can't go anywhere anyhaw, it's only during the the moment the bolt/probe is retracted beyond the face of the mag that it can be removed. I believe this is part of the manufacturing process and allows for a wider tolerance amongst guns and mag's being interchangeable without physical alteration. Just take a look at ar15/Ar10 platform guns for instance.....the mag slops around quite a bit, even on $5k models. As with all things firearms......SIMPLE-ROBUST, AND SIMPLE are the finest qualities you can impart during the design stages. It should work for your grandson as well as it worked for you......and never need a single part replaced. Ahhhh the good old days..

P.s. is that a factory fx mag?

jfrench64mag seemed tighter taking in and out when I 1st got the rifle last wk.

The up and down/rotational slop is what I was speaking of, however in terms of installation and removal tension...........did you accidentally pop the friction implying o-ring out of the cover of the mag? This would be readily evident by a small pocket hole in the cover of the mag......without an o-ring in it. Not trying to be a smart ass......I only mention this because the rifle is new to you and maybe you never noticed the little o-ring I'm talking about. The o-ring is not glued in place and although it happens rarely, it can get caught just right on something and be popped out.......don't bother looking for it......you'll never find it. FX uses a few strange O-ring sizes and rather than fart around hunting for a replacement, best thing to do if the o-ring is gone is to fill the pocket with some automotive rtv a bit higher than the plane of the cover's face and after it has completely hardened, slice the rtv down closer and closer to the cover while testing fit in the gun. It works excellent. Anyone who has used good rtv can tell you......when it sticks.....it really sticks. Also, this trick works on mag's that just plain don't fit the way you want them to. Pop the o-ring out and custom fit your mag's to your gun. Hope this helps.

Yes, mine is working fine
To. But it seem to kinda snap in at first and was a little hard to get out .
Now slides in and out without much effort.. I bet that o ring is gone mentioned earlier.I'll check tomorrow.
