I wasn't trying to suggest or imply that the Veteran is anywhere near the FPE of the Panthera. Simply using that gun as a baseline for perspective. Seems many of own Veterans so it felt like a good comparison or frame of reference.
The idea of providing an object for perspective is to give our brains something to compare. It's the reason guys throw a pellet tin or an MOA coin or a thumbnail into a photo of a group. Same concept. Of course the tin is bigger than the group size, but it gives our brains a frame of reference.
View attachment 329063 And an "extra 4.5 inches" is surely not an "insurmountable issue" but even 2 inches longer can sure be felt. Just try swapping around longer or shorter moderator on any of your airguns and you'll see what I mean.
Truth of the matter is that 1 inch = 1 inch or 49 inches = 49 inches = 4ft and 1 inch. For some the 49inches won't be a problem. I saw a Panthera 700mm "in the flesh" and 4ft + is a long gun to behold. Nothing wrong with that, for the potential owner who doesn't mind the length.
@RusBear, you're having some trouble getting the Theos? Which company did you buy it from? I can imagine how shipping a scope into Russia could be.....troublesome in these times.
