FX PANTHERA 600 (.25 cal)

@Centercut, I actually had done the same thing and switched to pellets to see how the Panthera would shoot the MK2 pellets. I have my regulator at around 100 to 105 bar and macro at 13 with micro at 2.75 and am averaging 903fps. Didn’t do a total shot count but there is basically no noise and I’m using the Huma Mod40.
Loving the versatility of this rifle and the extreme range of projectiles and power at my disposal. Can go from shooting 49.5gr Altaros or 48gr Griffin giving me over 92 ft/lbs of energy or dropping down to the JSB’s giving me around 62 ft/lbs.

I haven’t got to shoot with it yet, but it is sure nice!! Weighs about 4 lb, but you talk about keeping the front end stable. As I set up the scope, the weight of it just made it so easy to hold perfectly still. It’s a little pricey, but so worth it as far as I can tell.

I would imagine the additional 4lbs on the front really adds to the stability of the rifle. I'm interested in your feedback after you shoot off of it.

@Keith Rush, have you tried lowering the regulator pressure to possibly increase shot count with the 33.95 pellets? I brought my reg pressure down and the fps is still where you would want it.

I don’t have a chronograph yet unfortunately. I was shooting with some friends who had one so I could at least get a decent speed for the pellets for the time being. Once I get one, I’m looking forward to deep diving into the tuning process to really learn the gun. I like this platform that there is just enough tuning options to really dial the speed and accuracy in and not get yourself in a lot trouble.

Centercut, Tell me about this barrel. I've been out of airguns for some time but getting interested again. Is it an FX barrel or made by Superior arms?
It’s an FX STX barrel and liner SYSTEM. The Superior is pellets and light slugs. 1:24 twist. The Superior Heavy (they are staring to be imprinted “Superior Slug” are for heavy slugs but also shoot pellets reasonably well. 1:18 twist. When STX was released it had the Pellet A 1:27 and Slug A 1:21. All above number are .25 caliber.

Good morning. I have a 25 cal 700 panthera with the superior heavy liner that shoots slugs extremely accurate out to 200 yards . Farthest I have shot it so far. I would have a hard time shooting pellets in a gun designed for slugs. if it isn’t broke don’t fix it. Try slugs sometime. Once you find a good one you will never go back

So a little update. Haven't got to shoot much at all. Developed a small air leak. I believe in the valve area as best I could tell. I believe the first run of these were having a valve pin issue. Not sure if that's the cause or not, but mine is with Ken Hicks now to get the valve block corrected and also we are doing some upgrades in preparation for the Pyramid Cup in Aug and get it dialed in as efficiently and as accurate as possible with the 34gr.

Keith, how did the pellet liner work out for your FX Panthera 600mm .25 caliber? Did you find a great tune for the JSB 33.95 grain pellets?
