FX reveals the "Crown" and the Smooth Twist "X" barrel system!

High demand and low supply makes people want one even more. I don't know if FX is trying to do that, but I'm sure that made the Impacts more desirable. Hey..... I'm that sucker!

I just read that the barrels will be selling for $99. That is great! Should give people great opportunity to try out different barrels and find which they like best for their favorite pellet brand.

From what I understand, $99 is for the barrel sleeves only.
If you want to change calibers, you'll need a complete barrel kit. I suspect this will be similar to the Impact with a barrel, probe, and magazine. So, I'd also suspect the price point to be similar.
The mag prices shouldn't change since they are the same ones FX is using now for the Impact.

I do like the features on this rifle ... very tempting for me. I would really need to sell some airguns to justify the cost of this one though.

I found this video interesting. It's on Matt Dubbers Facebook page.
He states he shot the groups with the crown so it sounds like they have him there to help match up some barrel twist rates / pellet combinations.
I thought I read somewhere fx would offer suggestions as to what barrel would work for different pellets to help buys decide what they want. Press on the last part of the link to go direct to video.

FX has some nice guns and features. Accuracy is still king for me and getting the same results at lower prices for guns and magazines is a plus for me. My finances just can't justify high prices for guns that still need work or tweaks out of the box.

Having read more opinions on the new Smooth Twist X barrels it does look quite impressive, from many angles. I do have one question, forgive me if it has been mentioned somewhere already.
This new X barrel is still using the proprietary smooth twist technology correct? I assume it is, following the same naming convention as the previous technology. BUT, the "rifling" extends much further and into the "smooth" area of previous smooth twist FX barrels? So, in essence the smooth part of the barrel is now gone and more like traditional rifling? Me confused.

Yes its rifled the length of the barrel but it's rifling is pressed on from the outside unlike traditional rifling. This causes smooth rifling not sharply cut grooves and lands more like a polygon barrel but not exactly like it. This is my understanding anyways.
