FX reveals the "Crown" and the Smooth Twist "X" barrel system!

Didn't the Streamline took about a year from announcement to "available for purchase"? I would not hold my breath on this one unless FX has some new manufacturing capacity available. Plenty of time to save up and budget for this one.

I own three different FX rifles and I have yet to see or experience any of the "TERRIBLE QC" spoken of.

I have a 400 and if you have not held or shot one, you can't appreciate what a great Airgun they are. I also own day states and air arms, but my go to gun is the FX.

Looks like a worthy 'royale 2' I guess! And lots of great features.
Still pity about that huge magazine sticking up, and honestly don't know what to make about the interchangeable twist... barrel length I get- sacrifice length for air efficiency etc. but twist rate? Hasn't the whole sing song song been about the low/'just enough' twist rate vs other barrels? Consider all of Matt Dubbers videos on them.
Regardless, if it is interchangeable chokes, that's going to be tough to get right without the joint shaving chunks of lead off pellets and tiny mal-alignments unless there are machining tolerances at the level of the milbro metisse. And if it is just quick change barrels, that they've done already and are just refining/renaming it. Also, I have yet to see anybody really make use of it beyond finding their favorite one and sticking with it. The other barrels end up as 'in case' accessories or maybe just expensive fireplace pokers. I suppose some people somewhere do use the feature, but you don't see Ted's impact sporting anything but the .25... I dunno, sounds lovely on paper but seems like a potential gimmick/complication/something to go wrong.
I like FX guns- they're very accurate, mostly very well designed. I have no doubt this will end a a good rifle. But maybe a little too early to be declaring this the 'next level' of airguns based on a few pics, a feature list and an extra letter after 'smooth twist'...

I like it-,reg.gauge,h/s adj.shorter than 47" Shrouded barrel,somewhere around 7.5lbs still ?Hopefully! They (Fx) -Wait till I'm back flip ,happy with the way my latest greatest bestest gun ever shoots,and-Look this ones is more shinny

The royale design is the best and most well handling deaign. Wish they offer it with LW barrels also.

The new barrel design will take us forward for decades to come.
When Dan Brown and I did the original research to show the true spin rate of pellets shot from FX ST barrels, I knew that Fredrik would take it forward.
So the 100 metre 5 shot half inch groups may no longer be the odd ones some of us have shot. A year from now mark it down as a prediction that it will be commonplace.
I'm one who will be lining up for a new rifle when I thought I had finished acquiring new airguns. ... Harry in OZ.

There will be an outer barrel into which inner liners can be quickly exchanged with various twist rates and alternative calibres.
Twist rates should be able to be matched to the best of our pellets. That is true innovation and will I think move our long range accuracy into another zone. ... Harry.

This may be more option than a hamfisted shooter like me will use - you know, find a pellet that shoots and always buy that. But I appreciate the innovative thinking, and I think the "precision at any cost" guys will appreciate its flexibility even more.

If the shroud will be full length on the finished product, then I would expect the shooting noise level to be comparable to the FX Independence with a full length shroud. I can say from personal experience, I have never shot, nor been around any equivalent powered air rifle that is quieter than my .22 independence. With that said, if the new Crown is even close to being this quiet, I would be very happy with the noise level.

From your avatar it looks like you are shooting a Royale. Compared to it the Independence is quieter? That would be nice. My .22 Royale is already very quiet.
