I took the scope off my FX 400 yesterday to check the barrel screws. The screw all the way at the rear of the block on top was loose. It does not hold the barrel. What is it for? I tightened it down. Thanks.

On my Dreamline, I was told by the FX tech that it was for access to the area underneath. He recommended a drop of blue loc-tite, then screw it in until level with the block. Hope that helps.

It should screw down and hold the brass barrel inlet iirc. And yeah that's where they bore down to make the transfer port.

I think Hummer 57 is right. It is a very short screw. I can see an o ring under it. I will add some blue loc tite and screw it in just below flush. Thanks

That screw on my Royale is a cone point, and there is a dimple for it in the top of the barrel.

If the Dreamline uses the same receiver block and barrel inlet as the Royale, you should not see an O ring under that third screw hole. My Royale has a small flat milled into the barrel inlet that is directly under the hole. The rear O ring is behind it, and if that is visible through the hole, the barrel is considerably out of battery. Again, that's assuming the same assembly as the Royale.
