FX Royale 400

It appears FX website 2025 is not updated. They still have the Royale 400 and 500 listed but when you call a vendor to special order one you are told that they have been discontinued. Any feed back is much appreciated. There are some air gunners like my self that love the traditional walnut stock airguns without all the power - say max 40 fpe - and the AR style that being marketed, Just my opinion.

Try Newman Buck at Cape Fear Airguns. He is a former FX employee and I believe he will know the current status. Since it is not a rifle on which FX is expending any marketing effort, I expect that some vendors just don't want to contact them on a special order when they have inventory they need to sell. My information is dated, but a couple of years ago they were still making the Boss/Royale rifles, but few were being ordered, and I would not be surprised if the line is discontinued. I notice that the FX website shows them available in synthetic only. My 400 is synthetic and I like it a lot, but if you want walnut you might be out of luck.

Utah Airguns has it in stock
SpindleB, true but I’m looking for a walnut stock. Trying to make up my mind about the synthetic stock. I don’t mind if FX had walnut stocks to purchase.

A good buddy and AGN member whom I chat with several times a week ordered a Royale 400 .22.with a walnut stock last year. He may even chime in if he sees this thread...but I was with him every agonizing step of the way in the ordering process...I touted the virtues of the original smooth twist barrels as I've been shooting a Bobcat Mk2 for years and sending him pictures of groups I shot with it. He ordered it through Pymirad via Utah as their the FX importer. Long story short...he did eventually get the thing but it took FX's intervention to find out where it shipped to...was in the distribution warehouse...my buddy contacted ALL these organizations, many times and also Newman of Cape Fear Airguns. More than once I talked my buddy out of canceling the order for the Royale...The comeuppance of the ordering process...he did get the gun...he was informed by FX "that walnut" stock was the last Royale walnut stock...and he (my buddy) wouldn't recommend special ordering as he did. AGN member Okairgunner I think is his user name, is a salesmen for Pymirid air....at least he was some months ago I talked to him and ordered pellets through him...Contact him yourself and ask him...BTW my buddy love the Royale and walnut stock!

NOT just YOUR opinion. The only 3 guns I own, Bobcat, Royale, Boss, have always checked every box for me. Accuracy, repeatability, simplicity & low maintenance. They all deliver every time without all the complicated adjustments & o-rings. I don't think they've been discontinued. Just no demand anymore & wood stock might be a thing of the past. What a shame!

Does Steve Corcoran of Woods and Water still make stocks?
I have a walnut stock on my 400 Royale made by him
possible option?
From what I've heard Mike, he's not making those works of art anymore. When I bought my Boss (used) I had a chance for a custom stock he made for it but I didn't know enough to grab it then. BTW, I didn't know you have a Royale!

It was the 1st rifle I bought used.
The barrel and bottle were dipped to resemble carbon fiber. The stock was also dipped when I got it, but I stripped it off a found a hidden gem.
Found a Weirauch 97 trigger guard in nickel silver that fitted right in
An old one made back in 2013

I had a Bobcat .25 when they first came out, what a gun! I remember knocking a banana spider out its web from 75 yards, only thing left was 8 legs strewn about its web.:p

Very nice, WHY have you been hiding it from me? 🤪 Can't believe somebody actually dipped the stock. Glad you removed it. That's beautiful.

yeah, I just took it out today, first time in a while. still zeroed at 65 with one hole group. I don't shoot it much because I have a couple .22s that are cheaper to shoot but always impressed with its accuracy. Got some serious knockdowns power too! I have thought of the C/F bottle but still haven't got a (round tooit). Still settin on that larger handle too. I think I'm going to paint it black when I get that round tooit.

@coastal drifter
You may be better off finding a synthetic stock rather than painting the walnut
FX has recently discontinued the wood stocks for the Royales
Just being nosey
