FX Royale 500 bottle removal question

You should check with AOA to be sure. However, as I remember, in order to remove the bottle from the FX-500 you had to partially remove the barrel. I do not believe the gun has to be degassed since the bottle contains a valve. I know for sure that the bottle on the FX-400 can be removed without degassing and I believe the carbon fiber bottle on the FX-500 can be removed without loosening the barrel. Check with AOA for a definitive response.

I took my Royale 500 to AOA when I got the CF bottle. The stock bottle is too long to take off without removing the barrel or shroud. Since removing the stock shroud is very likely to damage it, it is best to remove the barrel (unless you have a screw on type like a Huggett, then you can just unscrew it and not remove the barrel). The valve is in the bottle, so you do not have to degas the cylinder to remove it. I know this because AOA gave me back the stock bottle, I asked them if it was still pressurized, they said it was and depressurized it after I asked them to.

"mats400"Australian version you just unscrew the bottle like the 400 no pesky moderators to get in the road lol.
Have you done this on a Royale 500 Mat? I have no need to remove the bottle, but if I need to,not draining the bottle will be handy.
Thanks Paul.
Not me personnaly but my good friend has a 500 and he does it with his.Just slowly start to unscrew it it will hiss for a little bit than stop than just unscrew it.Ive done my 400 the same way.

"weatherby"My answer from Johan when I asked him the same question:

4, Yes you can remove the bottle with air in it, however the shroud is in the way on the royal 500.

Well that settles it, thanks Gijs My thought, correct me if I'm wrong,is on the FX website states if bottles and cylinders are removable. Some are, some are not.Do all bottles and cylinders have a check valve, and removal is dictated by a fixed or removable shroud.
Not an issue for us in Australia because shrouds are not allowed.
