FX Royale Love

Hi Greenarrow,
Yes my Royale is new to me- I just scoped it and sighted in- it looks to be just what I wanted for a long range varmint gun. I've only gone to 40 yards tonight, I want to see what it does at 100. I've been shooting Marauders till now, I think my world just changed!
Well, you picked a good one. 22 cal? JSB 18.1? That's the winning combo for mine anyway. I sure hope it serves you well. 👍🏼👊🏼

Just jumping in on this one Green!

@JohnL57, I think you'll fall in love with your "new to you" Royale. I've taken literally thousands of ground squirrels. One of the first hunts I did with the Bobcat (.22) my first kill of the day was 102 yards. Mike Bricker (Centercut) set that one up for scope clicking. I ranged my target, set the scope for 102 yards & BAM! I thought only my Boss or Royale 500 would reach out that far, that accurately but I was wrong. They ALL shoot brilliantly! I wanted a Crown when they 1st came out but got frustrated at the ever lengthening wait time & ordered a Royale 500 out of that frustration. I'm SOOO glad I did & I've never looked back. This is definitely the platform for me & fills all my needs (BTW, videos on YouTube @ Gerry Reba)

If I remember correctly I had to cut off a couple threads on the screw of the sling stud to make sure it DIDN'T go through the wood under the bottle but it's held solid for years. Drilled a pilot hole of smaller dimensions to screw it in. I ultimately ended up putting picatinny rails on the bottom of my Royale & Boss to accommodate bipods, accessories or a sling stud adapter. I used rails with a curved mounting surface as opposed to a flat mounting surface.

Would someone share how they attached the front sling stud? There's not a lot of wood there to anchor into. I will definitely be walking around a lot with mine, so a sling will be needed.
John, I put a regular sling stud on my Royals and use a Safari Sling. There is no tension on the stud when carrying. Google Sarfari sling. Hands free carrying so you can load mags.
