Tuning FX Side-shot magazine assembly

Hello,

I have some issue with my Maverick .22 Side-shot magazine. It won't index properly. I think the spring was not preloaded enough, so I had to open it. Stupid mistake!!!

When I unscrewed the bolt, the whole thing broke apart because of the spring tension... Now I can't figure out where to put the bigger o-ring from the picture bellow (not the o-ring from the cap). Any help will be highly appreciated.

Did putting more tension on the spring solve the indexing issue? I have had similar issues, and there seems to be some kind of resistance. I took mine apart and using the 3M polishing cloth polished the "Axle" and inside surface of the rotating wheel. This helped, but I think I need to remove just a little bit more material, as I have to tap the mag in between shots to get it to index.

There are 4 little wholes in which the preload spring can be inserted. Putting the spring notch in any of them will increase or decrease the tension of the spring. Increasing the tension may solve your issue.
