FX Slugs

I've been finding that FX Hybrid slugs in 22 caliber are producing best results in my 100 yard shooting. I only wish they were less expensive. FX's packaging is rather costly, and I wouldn't mind if the slugs were packaged in a tin, cardboard box, or plastic bag so that prices could be competitive with other suppliers.
I recently picked up an FX Maverick in .25. I have both 700 and 500mm barrels. Haven't shot slugs yet but def plan on it. I also want to pick up a .22 barrel (haven't really decided on barrel length yet). Good to hear your opinion on FX slugs. Are you by chance shooting an FX airgun? Only asking to see if my experience might compare to yours.

While I haven't shot the FX .22 slugs (22gr) at 100 yards, I have at 75 and they are really good slugs. However, the reason for not shooting them more regularly is the same fact that you have stated, they are costly. I
thought about just using them for hunting only, but that to me doesn't make sense to switch back and forth on any given day, so I shoot NSA 24.8gr slugs with decent accuracy at that yardage instead.
Bummer that they are not priced competitively as they are excellent in the Impact especially.

Has anyone tried Apex slugs? Looks like $15 / 100 for the FX .22 22gr slugs. Apex is $13.80 / 120 for .22 33gr slugs. Apex also offers 3 diameters ( .217 , .218, .219 ) I'm not affiliated with Apex in any way. I had heard some positive comments on Apex so was curious if anyone had any experience or opinion. I'm still gathering info before I jump into shooting slugs so looking for input.

When it comes to deciding if you want slugs or pellets, you may want to question 1: how far am I shooting? I personally think that anything under a 100 yards is pellet realm unless you prefer slugs. I've amped up and tuned every rig that I own and I now shot slugs in everything including my break barrels. NSA and Zan both make a GREAT product with many different caliber sizes. Apex has Great slugs also, the three of them are in my ammo stock. Find you size and try a few.

The FX Slugs are most definitely a different breed. The design is particularly effective against small to medium game because of how fast they expand. I shot a groundhog with my FX Maverick VP .30cal shooting FX Hybrid Slugs , and I got a full passthrough, but I was able to recover the slug after exit.

L-R: FX Hybrid Slug .30cal, recovered FX Hybrid Slug, FX Hybrid Slug .357 for reference.
