FX Streamline .25 King Heavy 33.3gr and General Questions

I'm on the verge of purchasing an FX Streamline, but I have a few questions. I've searched the web and can't find any velocity data shooting JSB King Heavy pellets. Is the gun capable of 850fps with this pellet by adjusting only the power wheel? Since I will be shooting pest birds anywhere from 40-100 yards, I need to ensure that the gun has enough power reserves to shoot this pellet.

Another question I have has to do with noise. My understanding is that the stock shroud results in a rather loud shot. Has anyone replaced the shroud with a moderator? Who makes good moderators that will fit the Streamline? How much of an improvement over the stock shroud can I expect?
 
The streamline is on par with most any other FX gun, power will not be an issue with the 33gr MKII pellets. I have one and can shoot it across the chrony and give you some exact numbers for the JSB MKII 33.95 gr if you like? I have shot the bobcat with 25.3 gr and it is shooting an average of 963fps with a sd of 2.44. I mention this since the Bobcat has a manometer to read the regulated pressure, which is around 145bar. Shooting the streamline I have noticed that it comes off its reg at around 145bar, so I am drawing the assumption that they will shoot about the same.
Now for noise of the streamline, it does have a distinctive bark with out a moderator. I put a DonnyDL Sumo on mine and could not be happier. I have a huggett on my Bobcat and I would put them on the same level of effectiveness. You just have to make up your mind about the aesthetics of the two different moderators and don't forget the difference in price, if that matters. DonnyDL moderators are a bit less expensive. Drop me a PM and I will run the numbers on the chrony for you tomorrow if you wish.

Personal note: I really like the Streamline and I really like the bobcat but for two different reasons. Being a trigger snob, I have to admit I like the factory setting of the streamline over the bobcat. I have not touched either one yet so they are still both as they were coming from the factory. The second stage is so so sweet and light on the streamline, it feels like a true match trigger. The bobcat is set just a slightly bit heavier, but still wonderful. You can't go wrong with the streamline.

Cool. Thanks for the information. I found the data I'm looking for thanks to Deja. It appears the speeds will be around 765 fps out of a stock Streamline. He also has a video on adjusting the hammer spring which I would need to get the velocity up to my goal of 850fps. I hate to modify a brand new gun, but unless I step up to the Crown or an Impact, I guess I might have to.

I just shot mine across the chrony this morning and will post the actual data on a separate forum string but here is the crux of the data you were looking for.
Gun: FX Streamline .25 no mods shooting on hi pwr; fill pressure 230Bar. Zeroed at 30yds using standard JSB 25.39gr pellets.

JSB KING HVY MKII (33.95gr)
shot string: 10 shots
avg: 831.9 fps
ES: 11.88
Sd: 3.60
Average Energy at the muzzle: 52.18 ft-lbs. 
POI drop is approx 1/2" at 30yds

(For comparison the standard kings 25.39gr have avg. 945fps velocity; average Energy at the muzzle: 50.4ft-lbs.)


For the fun of it, I also shot on medium power, just a couple of shots
620.7fps
POI dropped approx 2.25" at 30yds

For the fun of it, I also shot on Low power
441.8 fps
POI dropped approx 7.0" at 30yds.

You mentioned that you want to use the gun for bird pesting out to 100yds. You didn't ask for it but here is an opinion on what pellet I would choose. The JSB heavy (33.95gr) only carries approx 2ft-lbs additional energy at the muzzle. As you can see by the Point of impact (POI) info I included it will have a much more parabolic flight path at longer distances, than say the JSB 25.39gr. From my observations I would choose the 25.39gr over the 33.95gr for practically any type of pest bird application, and here is why. When I'm pesting, my ranges change with almost every shot, I would prefer a pellet path that would be as flat as possible so that a shot at say 50yds would only change POI of about 0.5" at 75yds, rather than a heavier pellet that will have to be compensated (probably by holdover) that might be several inches difference between 50yds and 75yds. In all honesty, I have not found the heavies to be any more accurate than the 25.39gr pellets out of any of my guns shooting out to 75yds. I'm not knocking the heavies, but I just don't have an application where I need to use them that the 25.39gr don't fill the bill better. Now with that said, I could see if you were shooting bench style of shooting at known distances and wanted something to buck the winds a "little" better maybe. Then that would make some sense to me. Please don't take offense to my diatribe, but I just wanted to share an opinion that might be different than the direction your thinking, so just take it with a grain of salt and if it helps, great and if it don't then it's just another opinion. Wishing you the best of luck with your Streamline, I know mine is one of my favorite guns.

The moderators might move this to another subject since we are getting away from ctilley79 original post, but here are my observations. The Wildcat is a sweet gun, it is short and easy to maneuver. Not sure of the weight differences but the streamline is very light for being a long gun. Now with that said the streamline is longer and with that come good and bad, depending on how you look at it. For me, the streamline is more accurate, now before I get jumped on this, let me just say the streamline is more accurate for me, since it is longer and more stable of a platform. That is something most would agree with that is given up with when we go to bullpups. Its a trade off of being short and maneuverable vs longer and more stable. I have bullpups and they have their place in my collection, but I must say, the Streamline offers many great benefits in a very affordable package. Right now mine is shooting just as accurately if not slightly beating out my Bobcat at 30 yds, and the bobcat is alot more money. Sorry ctilley79 don't mean to hijack your thread. Now back to the streamline and the rest of the news!

PS I really like the stock on the streamline and the cheek weld over the bullpups, but that is just a personal preference. Negative about the streamline? needs a moderator. DonnyFL can take care of that without breaking the bank.

Rogue Air Weapons USA also has some streamline .25 testing with the different Donnyfl moderators. I like that you can easily take them apart and replace or upgrade the dampening materials. Plus money saved compaired to huggett as FunGun said, which may provide additional funds for better scope. I have my streamline .25 coming on monday and have the Donnyfl sumo waiting on its arrival.

You won't need to, imo. The difference between stock and 850 won't make a difference for birds. Plenty of power to do what you want.
