Fx Streamline currently on sale ?!?!

FX should have waited to announce the gun at the 2017 Shot Show when it MIGHT be available within a reasonable time frame. How do you take a company seriously when the announce a new product then go a half YEAR or longer before having some for sale? I was interested and wanted one but after waiting and waiting and waiting screw it spent my money elsewhere.

It's just the way things are done in the Airgun...er... World, Dan.

Every company wants to raise the bar with a new product at their respective Trade Show (Shot is effectively a Trade Show - we get reports, but technically it's just for the Shooting Trade).

How about your reactions to this -

Which, sadly is out of my wallet's reach - and also at least 2 years away (when it will be toned-down anyway, :-( ).

And... It was announced at a trade show and the main purpose of those things is to tell the industry what they have planned over the next year or so. There would be no point in announcing things that were about to go into stores because we can get that info from the actual retailers.

One of the reasons manufacturers show people a sneak preview or a prototype of what they are working on is to get some early feedback and a temperature check. At the pre-production prototype stage they can use people's feedback to make design changes and, if a product is not well received, they sometimes make the decision to cancel them all together vs lauching something nobody wants.

A lot can happen between a trade show and the actual launch. If I was FX, I would be using the time to make sure the Streamline is at least as good as the Daystate Regal. Since they came down in price, it puts them in direct competition with FX's lower cost offering.

BRS Those are some interesting looking electric cars. Hope they have better luck with the battery than Samsung is having with their phones. With gas prices what they are and the thought of spending $10K for a replacement battery every few years Im sticking with internal combustion. I agree it seems to be the way air gun industry behaves but why not make some prototypes, work out the bugs like air leaks, before announcing. Build up a little stock and put up a finished product for sale, not prototypes they hope will run well. I remember a maker announcing a semi auto and bragging about it only to have to release as a repeater because they couldn't work out the mechanism. Very embarrassing. I have more hobbies than money and a house I am working on so when I get all fired up for a new gun its just a bummer waiting month after month. Lost interest and got a nice new AK and a bunch of mags. This was probably all for the best as I don't think air guns will be getting banned anytime soon. I will get another air gun later. Think I will get a reg or SST for my Marauder.
