Fx super swift/ cutlas .....any still own or did at one time?

The swift/ cutlass model has always raised my interest simply because of the self returning cocking lever. In my mine it seem the action would be very quick in follow up shots. Is there a reason why there does not seem to many videos or reviews on this gun? Did the action suffer from problems due to the style of the return? It looks as fx would've brought some of the features over like shrouds or a carbine length.
Just looking for some experience and thoughts on this model. I'm thinking this would be a awesome gun to customize provided it doesn't have any chronic issues.

"MP44"The barreled action is the same as the Cyclone. I have owned both the SS and Cyclone, I like the looks of the SS better but for actual shooting the Cyclone stock is better.
The action is a little different. The Cyclone from what I saw you have to return by pushing the rear or by lever. The Swift returns by itself, I'm assuming by way or spring. Both appear to have adjustable power. How smooth was the action?

Don't they call that the "biathlon action"? Their biathlon rifle has the same feature. I am assuming it has value in that sport.

The Swift has always looked like one of a number of obsolete or redundant models in the FX lineup. I think it's time to streamline a little and drop some of those older unregulated rifles - especially when the streamline is released.... Can't think why anyone would ever buy any of their old unregulated guns once a regulated one hits the shelf for $1000.

Better to focus on doing 5-6 models well than to spread yourself too thin etc.

The SuperSwift was based on the Cyclone. No doubt Fred A. thought as it's so easy to cycle the Biathlon why dont I make it even easier? So instead of the knurled brass thumb return (Cyclone type) he installed an adjustable spring. It was never meant to simulate 'auto' actions just make life easier :)

It's considered a big mistake to let the side lever fly back uncontrolled, by owners, such as myself, rather one should keep a finger/s on the lever as it closes.

The SuperSwift had a sleeved barrel with partial air stripping (small hole near the breech block end).

Another interesting evolution of the Cyclone action was the Storm (which didn't make it to the USA), here the pistol grip slides back and forth and holds the cocking mech. (well, end of). An early version had the pistol grip somewhat loose and the user had to make sure it was cycled correctly - the second version kept the sliding grip lined-up properly. It is possible to cycle the action very quickly (approx 1 second per shot), but you soon get bored with doing that!
