FX superior .25 700mm superior liner twist rate, did I get scamed on AGN?

So I bought this superior .25 700mm superior liner from an AGN member with good feedback and was excited to open the package. Once I opened it I noticed the superior sticker looks like it has been peeled off before with dirt on the sticky side. That got my suspicion up and broke out a tape measure and found the twist rate to be 1:27 after multiple measurements just to be sure. To double check I took out my pellet liner A and measure the twist rate and long be hold it's the same exact 1:27 even though the apparence of the barrel varies very slightly. The liner also has lead in the barrel even though it supposed to be new.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought the superior barrel in .25 caliber and 700mm length supposed to be 1:23? Is the liner I got just another STX pellet liner A? Did I get scammed or it is a superior liner but I am pretty sure it won't have the same twist rate as my old STX liner.

Sent seller a couple of message about it but so far no answer which is also suspicious.

Help!

I had a feeling it wouldn’t have been long for someone to pipe in about getting had on a superior liner purchased second hand. When I first got one, I saw that sticker and wondered what’s to stop someone from peeling those off carefully and reapplying it on to a standard liner?

Maybe FX can add a step to their production of these, and just laser etch the liners noting barrel type along with caliber. It would also help avoid mistakes in packaging them in the tubes for shipment to the dealers. These liners at a glance could be mistaken very easily especially in calibers, like a 22 vs a 25. If they were laser etched at midpoint one could easily tell.

Just a simple 25 SUPERIOR 700 or 30 PELLET 600 would tell a lot.

My 700mm .25 cal. Superior liner didn’t even come in the plastic tube from the dealer. It was just wrapped in brown paper with the Superior liner sticker on it. I agree with you though Augie. I’ve got two different length STX liners, a 700mm slug liner and a 700mm Superior liner. I took a sticky note for each one, labeled it and then used clear packaging tape to completely cover it and protect it so I don’t get mixed up in the future. There. has got to be a better way!

My thoughts exactly. Supposedly the new barrel kits are all shipping with SL. Actually have a .30 700mm coming in tomorrow. I'm hoping it's clearly marked but it'd be nice if they could make laser etching the exact model and twist rate part of their production process.

Does your sticker look like this?

Also, did the barrel come in a plastic sleeve to protect it from damage with a sticker that reads superior like this?

Thats how I received mine from a reputable dealer.

Yes sticker looks right and the tube is almost right except marked the wrong caliber.

Can someone with a real superior liner in .25 and 700mm confirm the twist rate?

I'm sure FX plans on laser etching them eventually. They always come out with improvements in sequenced order. If nobody's noticed.

It's very possible a mistake was made anywhere from Factory to dealer, to buyer, 2nd buyer, returns, sold again.

I'm gonna throw this out there for all as it has to do with let's say mistakes, PayPal & USPO claims.

Someone contacts me a month after item is received. Low dollar $75-78.50 shipped item. The $50 priority insurance was enough even if I lost another $25.00-$50.00 if I had to issue a refund.

The fellow contacts me a month after receiving it and says possible damage. I ask for pictures and say I'll refund any money; but need pictures of priority box, item, item shipped back.
I know to pack with 2" at least around item. I've never had to make a claim but who does? Buyer? Seller?

No pictures came & buyer then said they are happy & had mistaken dirt or something as wrong with a cheap springer scope.

I got that scope in a trade for a more expensive 6-24x56 Leapers. All scopes optically centered in mirror.
If I sent the guy a bad item I honestly didn't see anything wrong with it at all.

I would simply have refunded the money if pictures showed damage after item was returned & taken a loss, or waited on USPO claim for myself. Not the buyer.

I specifically ask for anyone buying from me to tell me as soon as item arrives and to give feedback. A month later. I can understand not getting around to mounting it but the claim itself would have to be within 24 hours of delivery? Yes, no?

Good luck with your liner and don't be afraid to name names. We don't have to criticize or blackball. We are supposed to help each other. If FX does laser etch anything I will probably need glasses for up close small print.
I'm farsighted as I get older. I can no longer see my own fingerprints unless 1' or further away, or have my reading glasses on.

Great list, & Thank You!

I highly doubt I'll ever buy a new FX. But I would buy a liner and use in my FX Elite. Add a brass larger diameter if needed for the flow through bolt, 4 screw barrel retention system.

So how much are each of these liners? Who has a FX20206 27.59906" 700mm .22 1:15 in stock? I wouldn't mind comparing that to my Condors 1:17.7 24" barrel. It's able to send 32 grain RBT Griffin slugs at 1040 quite easily. I just put a lighter factory hammer and weight in instead of the a Ginormous 115 gram no slap brass hammer.

My opinion only I feel like the seller pulled a fast one, and if he tells you it came that way to him he’s lying. So far the superior liners I’ve seen and bought from the classifieds have been accidentally bought or sellers had two of them, so the two I bought were like brand new and just by the looks of the sticker you could tell it was new. The first superior liner I bought was from s good guy that barely used it but only sold it because the new impact he had coming to him already had one in place, so he didn’t need a second identical one.

The superior liner is, well, superior and has proven great results. I don’t see too many used ones being sold, as who gets rid of them once they try them? And it’s not like that sticker gets abused inside the barrel. The liner doesn’t move!

To the OP- go from your gut on this one. If the seller isn’t responding you should all save future potential buyers from this guy the drudgery by just popping his name and forum name out.

qball,

Measure the actual twist rate INSIDE the liner(use cleaning rod/wood dowel with tight-fitting patches). Sometimes the exterior twist lines aren't correct.

Always shoot the liners to judge them. 2 of the 4 STX liners I own didn't have the correct twist rate. One of them(not very accurate) was gladly and quickly replaced with liner which had the "listed" twist rate by company which advertise on AGN. The other was the best shooting pellet barrel I have ever owned, even though it is NOT the "listed" twist rate. All 3 of the Superior liners I own have the listed twist rate.

Below is a pic of the receiver end of a Superior STX next to a regular STX(slug A) liner. Notice how the exterior twist lines stop BEFORE reaching the breach end on the regular STX(slug A) liner. I don't know if all STX liners are like this or not, but it MAY be an indicator.
