Tuning FX Widcat MK3 Regulator Issue

Hi guys, I am new to tuning PCP's, I generally just shoot them as they come and never had a problem, I have a Dreamline Tac also in .25 and a Crown never mucked about with either. Got the Wildcat MK3 .25 today and God knows what possessed me? I wanted to turn up the reg pressure from 130 to 145 to shoot JSB Heavies 33.95 so followed the booklet instructions and achieved that, problem now is that it's shooting good but after leaving the rifle for a while the reg pressure climbs to 200+ can't figure out what I did wrong, I did not adjust or tamper adjusting the hammer spring just used the dial as indicated by various levels, Could I have stuffed up something or maybe the gauge is not accurate, I really don't know what to do and it's a 4 hour trip back to the distributor, any thoughts? any help please. All I did was raise the reg pressure 1/2 turns at a time.

Thank you for any advice or help.

Gary

B I tried emptying the bottle and refilled it and shot it but it creeps up to 200 and I don't want to shoot it at such a high pressure, and now the reg adjustment screw is loose and does nothing cannot seem to turn it up or down, I think it may be a rare faulty unit which is almost unheard of with FX, I can't lower it apart from bleeding it off the reg gauge but it creeps up to 200 in minutes, wonder if I can buy a new tube and regulator for it or if I had the knowledge I would rebuild it. I'm having to take it back tomorrow but I'll be paying for repairs if they can fix it that is, apparently if you muck about with them and cause damage which who knows if I did or not, warranty is void, the distributor has little spares so may end up without it for months. I Aussie there are no such groups as Air Arizona, or other great shops that they seem to have in the US and UK, shame I'm sure there are expert shops out there to fix it just not in Ozz.

I woke up this morning and the reg pressure is sitting on 220 the adjustment Allen key is just moving say 1 turn either way but has no effect on the reg pressure to drop it and is really loose but becomes very or extremely tight trying to screw in to drop pressure, sure looks like something major has happened, wonder if I can buy a new air cylinder and regulator for it and just put it in and be done with it, in Aussie any spare parts apart like O rings and a few small other bits is ok but major parts are so hard to locate, we are so behind to the UK and US on this sort of stuff. Anyway thanks for your help I'm off now on my 4 hour trip with the Missus to nag me to death and rub it in, she thinks I stuffed it up which is probably true, Oh my poor ears being bashed for 4 hours, deservedly so I think.

I just had an issue with my Reg, but I bought the gun Wild 3 used. I called FX and they sent me a rebuild kit for it, no questions asked really, it took 2 weeks. The gun has a 3-year warranty.

I didn’t bother rebuilding it as I installed the Huma (got on in my other gun, a Leshiy) and the XL plenum. The design of the Huma appears simpler. I installed it and my issues were solved. You cant use the regulator adjustment screw you mentioned, but I will gladly give that up for a reliable regulator.

Sorry for your trouble, the AMP regulator is mash up of rubber o rings, plenty of holes where stuff is screwed in and in comparison to the Huma, far more potential areas of problems.

Correct and I was going to do that but I'm in Oz and this forum is 80% UK and US, but the shop is Hermanns Sporting Guns in Mirboo North Victoria Australia, they have the FX dealership in Oz, the shop is run by two awesome brothers, Lucas and Franck they are both legends and only young too, like 30, they run the business on behalf of their father Herman who does a lot of Engineering works from the shop which is country based hence the long drive, Google Mirboo North Engineering or Hermanns Sporting goods.
