Hi
I want to start this by saying that I am in contact with Johan and I hope we continue to work together to get these issues fixed.
1:
I have gone from Chrono results AV 901 ES 18 SD 4 to AV 380 ES 48 SD 13. This is with the same 200bar fill and the same JSB 18gr pellet.
I started an accuracy test with 3 shots @12 yds., 4 shots @ 25 yds. and moved out to 50 yds. with my last shot in the mag. It didn't make paper. 2 more mags after a refill, I was hoping it would help but no improvement. I have fired in total around 300 pellets through this rifle. I completed a de-gas and a new 200 bar refil. My first magazine, with 24gr pellet, looked to be on target. Next magazine with 'sighted' 18gr pellet did not make paper, each pellet falling lower than the last.
2:
The rear linkage has popped its seating. A small pin through the plastic trigger mechanism, connecting the linkage to the trigger, via a thin piece of metal has come loose.
3:
Magazine indexing arm scratching magazine. This has been depositing paint and metal filings into the breech. I followed instructions to remove arm and filed this down, could do with a bit more.
4:
Magazine popped out during bench rest testing. I was firing free pellets which were not the recommended JSB's, Crossman Prem and Accupels both 14grish. I think this may be related to skirt size as these where lighter/smaller pellets. I still don’t think this should happen.
5:
Cocking arm pin fell out during dry fire de-gas, to test regulator air lock, for a fix to number 1. I have said it before but I was glad this didn't happen in the field.
6:
Pellet probe moves freely when rifle is cocked. This means to reload the rifle I have to take it from a safe position, pointing it at the ground, to either tilted on its side horizontal or vertical pointing to the sky. As we are all shooters here I hope you will agree that this is not safe practice. I see no reason why, when the rifle is fully cocked either for cycling the next pellet or for reloading that the pellet probe needs to move freely with gravity in play. An O-ring would solve this issue.
7:
Accuracy issues. This could be related to any of the above..or my choice of JSB 18gr pellet. I understand a number of Wildcat .22 owners are getting great results from the 16gr JSB's. I am reluctant, without advise from Johan as a fix or check for these issues, to remove my barrel to check for barrel related issues that have been mentioned on this forum.
After 2 weeks that is quite a list. Both FX, Johan and my retailer, Young's in Auckland, have been supportive. I do however want to make FX and other FX Wildcat owners aware of these issues. I sold two PCP's, Benj Mrod .177 and BSA Sportsman HV .22 to get this rifle. I don’t want to regret getting rid of two very good, powerful, accurate, home tuned and regulated rifles. I hope that we can fix the rifle I have and I don’t have to return, replace or wait too long for parts and or repairs.
I will keep this updated as FX, Johan, respond.Craig
