FX Wildcat Huma regulator failed to launch

I installed a Wika regulator pressure gauge in my Wildcat and as long as I had it bled down, installed a Huma regulator. Thoroughly followed the instruction sheet and it's very straight forward. Started to fill with air and all it does is leak out the vent hole in the tank. Not a seep, but a really hard leak. Took it apart and cycled the adjustment screw a 1/3 turn both directions and then set it at 140 bar. Assembled and still leaks. Redo and set it at 110....still leaks. Took it all apart and see nothing wrong with the outside 0-rings........so it must be blowing through the vent hole between the two outside 0-rings. Beats me :( :(

I know the impact does it. I didnt know the wildcat does it too. Dang. These fx guns are expensive. You would think it would be trouble free. Smh. They need to go back to the drawing board. Too many problems with fx guns. Idk about the wildcat but on the impact there is a o ring down inside where the reg goes and usually that is what cause the leaking. It's hard to get to. If you watch earest video he will show how to replace it.

A HUMA regulator was installed .... non FX part so don't blame FX in this case!

Yep.it is in correctly with the weep hole up for what ever reason that is.

I'm besides myself. I had the damnable thing apart nearly a dozen times this afternoon.Surgically cleaned it and just a smear of silicone....nope.

Flipped the valve disk over............nope.

Cycled the adjustment screw from 100 bar to 170 bar and set to 140 bar........nope.

Cleaned and flipped the outer 0-rings...nope.

Cleaned and flipped the largerl piston 0-ring and gobbed it and the disc up with LOTS of silicone. Got it to pressure up by blocking the weep hole with a center punch as it filled. Nope...regulator pressure was matching the tube pressure with the regulator set at 130 bar. I quit filling at 170 bar,

Total clean up and heavy smear of silicone on the piston 0-rings. Regulator set to 140 bar Got it to hold pressure again by blocking the weep hole. Went to full 230 bar and regulator was holding at a little over 140 bar. 8 shots in a ragged hole at 40 yards, 900 fps and 7 ES. Nope. Went to split some firewood and it leaked down to zero because I forgot to fully tighten the fill gauge. Tried to refill and it just blows out the weep hole as if the regulator isn't even in the tube.

The small bore for the piston has a dark mark on it....like an 0-ring was stuck to it for years. Can't feel any thing by rubbing a wood tooth pick on it.

Tracing the leak,it sure seems like the air is going past this small 0-ring and then going through the body weep hole in the next picture. 0-ring is perfect looking. (Grease reflection from the camera flash)

I filled this weep hole with grease and assembled it. Blew the grease right out of it.

Now what do I try next? 6 washers on the piston stack and the 2nd and 3rd ones are the only ones opposed to each other..correct?
The silicone grease I have is very thick stuff....too thick?

See anything wrong?

0-ring lays right on the tanks weep hole. Somehow,I got the spacers mixed up and I can't believe I didn't see it right off. Seems odd that it did work correctly one time with the wrong spacer Must have set just forward of the hole on assembly and it stayed long enough for filling ONE time :( It gets worse tho............

The correct spacer.............but still leaked air.

FX regulator factory stock stack up.

So knowing I had the wrong spacer ring....I surgically cleaned and dried everything, Silicone grease on the 0-rings,silicone oil on the washers, as that is what looked like Huma was using. Carefully assembled the rifle and started filling it.......only to have air pouring out the weep hole as if I fixed nothing. My ass is crispy black again....there on the work bench is the spacer ring. I was so excited about getting the vent hole lined up to the top and screwing the end cap on....that I forgot to put the spacer in!! Are you kidding me! I can now take this thing apart in 2 minutes! I put the ring in and filled. 150 bar on the regulator...........yay!~
40 shots on a fill and bar settled down to a touch over 145 and holding for a few hours anyways. 908 FPS average,10 FPS exstream spread. One ragged hole at 40 yards.
