I'm besides myself. I had the damnable thing apart nearly a dozen times this afternoon.Surgically cleaned it and just a smear of silicone....nope.
Flipped the valve disk over............nope.
Cycled the adjustment screw from 100 bar to 170 bar and set to 140 bar........nope.
Cleaned and flipped the outer 0-rings...nope.
Cleaned and flipped the largerl piston 0-ring and gobbed it and the disc up with LOTS of silicone. Got it to pressure up by blocking the weep hole with a center punch as it filled. Nope...regulator pressure was matching the tube pressure with the regulator set at 130 bar. I quit filling at 170 bar,
Total clean up and heavy smear of silicone on the piston 0-rings. Regulator set to 140 bar Got it to hold pressure again by blocking the weep hole. Went to full 230 bar and regulator was holding at a little over 140 bar. 8 shots in a ragged hole at 40 yards, 900 fps and 7 ES. Nope. Went to split some firewood and it leaked down to zero because I forgot to fully tighten the fill gauge. Tried to refill and it just blows out the weep hole as if the regulator isn't even in the tube.
The small bore for the piston has a dark mark on it....like an 0-ring was stuck to it for years. Can't feel any thing by rubbing a wood tooth pick on it.
Tracing the leak,it sure seems like the air is going past this small 0-ring and then going through the body weep hole in the next picture. 0-ring is perfect looking. (Grease reflection from the camera flash)
I filled this weep hole with grease and assembled it. Blew the grease right out of it.
Now what do I try next? 6 washers on the piston stack and the 2nd and 3rd ones are the only ones opposed to each other..correct?
The silicone grease I have is very thick stuff....too thick?
