FX Fx wildcat mk3 bottled barrel band

Hello, I have a FX Wild Cat MK3 bottle sniper. It happens to be very accurate, but when I take it hunting, it is very common for my point of impact to change, perhaps because the barrel does not have a barrel band and the barrel does not have much support. For a moment, I put a 1.5 washer between the space where the jacket ends and the change was spectacular. The groups changed at 30 meters from 1/2 inch to a single hole. Incredible how a simple washer gave tension to the barrel, transforming it into a laser. Now I want to try with a barrel band. Does anyone use a barrel band on a Wild Cat MK3? How does it work? That's my question. Regards.

Jake at JB3DPD.COM is my goto guy for printed objects like barrel bands. He does all my custom work too. He has a barrel band for the Wildcat bottle.

I use a carbon fiber liner on my Maverick compact. It worked wonders on a 500 mm barrel.
Just about anything that stiffens the barrel will improve barrel harmonics and the size of the POI groups.
Essentially the new FX guns(ie DRS) stiffen the harmonics using the gun’s air tank/plenum around the barrel. 2000-3000 psi in all directions around the barrel is a helluva stiffener!
A barrel band can be a bit problematic cuz if it twists even slightly, for whatever reason, there is a definite POI shift. Quality in the product would be paramount, IMHO.

MANY threads already on this subject.
I find it interesting that the Olympic shooters...snipers, etc., don't use...barrel bands. Many newer PCP guns don't use them.

To me all that says, don't lay your gun on it's barrel, and you shouldn't have any problem...without one, the gun anyway. Make sure that the barrel is tight in the receiver, make sure the pellet isn't "clipping" the muffler.
A band that's made just a few thousandths off, (center to center), will bend your barrel !

Hello, I have the sniper 700 with a bottle and I use it for hunting in the field. I have realized that if it moves a lot when transporting or using it, my poi changes for a few ctm at 50 mt and this is very annoying because you have to be adjusting the sight continuously. Then I saw a YouTube video where a person recommends putting a washer between the jacket and the base where the barrel enters. The washer is 1.5 mm to give it firmness and not be very loose and like magic my fx wildcat mk3 grouped one on top of the other like magic, keeping the poi. That's why I ask about the barrel band or do I leave it like that with the washer. Greetings.

So you are tensioning the barrel a little differently with the washer, which changes the harmonics of the barrel. Haven't tried this on my Maverick but seems pretty logical.......so the washer is 1.5mm thick, right? What's the diameter and "hole size"......enuf to fit the barrel, I assume? Can you explain in more detail? Can you send a link on YouTube?

hey look I'm uploading some photos of how I placed the washer the diameter is a little bigger than the diameter of the barrel and I slid the washer without the jacket onto the barrel and then I tightened it with the jacket the washer is very thin so that the jacket sits without tightening too much it's just giving firmness to the barrel in fact I have a matador edgun and that's how the barrel tension works by tightening with the jacket and then I saw that tip in a video and it solved my life on my wildcat sniper 700mm bottle the washer should be very thin just to serve as a basis for firmness I'm leaving some photos of how mine turned out I hope fx airguns would consider that at least the wildcat sniper had a more fixed barrel and not so loose because it really does give grouping problems if it's not tight greetings
