FX Wildcat mk3 BT shooting only 880-900fps with pellets

Hey guys, can someone help ? Recently i bought FX Wildcat mk3 BT in .22 cal with 600mm barrel,480 cc bottle and tried to set it up for slugs and pellets.
Unfortunately i cant get over 900 fps with pellets (JSB Hades 15.89 grain) ,ive set first reg to 170bar,second one to 140bar and adjusted power wheel screw.
Now its on settings 1 - 7 something like 700-900fps ,but i cant get over that.Any ideas would be really appreciated.Sorry for the scuffed english :)
Thank you

The tungsten is too much. If you’re ordering from Huma get their Maverick/Wildcat hammer tuning set which comes with two brass hammers. The larger of the two will be perfect for your needs.

Also, have you changed the HST screw behind the power wheel? Check out the Ernest Rowe Wildcat MkIII tuning video to see how that’s done. Even with a light (stock) hammer, you should be able to get the pellets screaming along at 120bar.

I ordered wildcat slug power kit, which comes with heavy hammer, but they have only tungsten in the set i believe. ill check somewhere else..i have seen that video and tune the screw based on that,6mm i think (when i put more,it will not ingage on power setting 7) .Yeah well i also thought even stock mk3 BT would get somewhere around 1050fps with pellets.Ive tried on 110bar and i was getting like 700fps,then i started to open the regs and maxed out on 910 i believe :( .Hopefully it gets better with few mods idk,im new to this maybe im doing something wrong.Thank you for advice

I think your reg pressure is too high. You’re overpowering the hammer, and it can’t open the valve for long enough. Try lowering reg pressure and try again. My method (before balance valves became more prominent) is to lower reg pressure to 110b. Max out your hammer spring tension on both the power wheels, and internal adjustment. Then slowly work up reg pressure till the velocity drops off again. You’ve now reached the knee, and the highest speed that particular setup can reach. Back off reg slightly for efficiency, and you now have the gun tuned for the highest velocity in its current setup. If it’s not fast enough for you, and reg pressure isn’t above 150, I’d do as @weevil says and get a heavier hammer. Tungsten is too much unless you plan to shoot heavy slugs.

Bingo! I have my 500mm set to 135/105 bar, PW=6. It's shooting Hades 15.9 at 860 FPS.

Weird thing is that it came from factory set up to 105-110ish bar ,and it was shooting around 720fps on power settiing 7 .So i opened the regulators to now 170/140 and now fps is 890-905 which seems to be max.But i havent tried something in between 110 and 140,i can try that. What pressure should i set the first reg ? I plan on shooting slugs max 26 grains. Thanks for advice

That's disappointing to get it that way.

I'd remove the PW and measure the Hammer Screw Tension (HST). I "think" stock is 6-6.5 mm but someone else with more experience should confirm. If the HST isn't out enough, the PW has little effect.

FYI - the HST is opposite of what you might think. Counterclockwise to increase tension.

6-6.5 is the max the IHS should be above the spring cap.

OP lots of good advice here. Leave the tungsten at the factory along with the Huma port until you have tried all of this advice and gotten your arms around tuning and understanding how all this magic works.

I have a .22 compact BT. With the lightest hammer.
For Hades:
My First reg is at 120, My second reg is at 90.
Hammer screw is out .193" and the wheel is on 7
900 fps all day long.
No way you need a heavier hammer and your regs set that high.
I was watching few youtube vids, like every new excited gun owner xD and people with compact wildcat mk3 bt 500mm are shooting Javelins 23grain 1000fps and 15.9 hades at 1130.Im not saying it is necessary, but the power should be there

Yeah youre right, maybe there is some magic setting and it will shoot fine.I have the gun for few days and tried some tuning from youtube, but no luck yet.ill keep trying.Thank you

I could never get my 500mm barrel to shoot the 23 grain Javelin or NSA slugs. I put my 600mm barrel on for that. Switch to the heaviest hammer and my reg is bumped up to 140. With that setup it's pushing them at 1020fps like a laser beam.

A 11g hammer will make your dreams come true. Don't fight it with the 7g hammer . Stock hammer is OK for under 100 bar.

This string is .22g FX slugs while tuning. Most of the lows are from adjustments w 110 bar on reg 2 , over 42 fpe at 930 fps . Using the slug port.
