No the air won't come out if you remove the barrel. Best way to deep clean (but not always necessary for routine cleaning). May have to slightly re-zero after re-installing the barrel. You don't have to torque down on the barrel retainer screws too much!

Also you may want to have your magazine in place when you re-install your barrel so you don't push it in too far and make it difficult to insert the magazine afterwards.

Personally, I use a PatchWorm or similar to clean the barrels in place.

Thanks, that is helpful. I guess I could just always clean the barrel in place for ease, pushing the patches through the barrel from front to back, with the cocking lever in the pulled back position (safety on, obviously). Really just wanting to clean the lead build up on the inside. Thanks man!
