Fx wildcat mkII or Edgun r5m std.

A carbon fiber bottle typically saves about a pound compared to a steel tubular air tank, even at double the air volume! It may make the rifle seem front heavy on a bipod since the mounts for the bipod are generally positioned further rearward-- but there are pic rail extenders for some rifles to move the bipod forward if desired. I'd bet that most rifles that feel front heavy have other parts contributing to that feel, such as wood stocks, long steel shrouded barrels, or a heavy action such as in a Hatsan or a RAW.

Here’s a photo of the .25 R5M next to a FX Wildcat .22, which is the same size as the WC Compact .25. While they might be close in weight, the Eddy feels considerably heavier when handling them both side by side.

ghoststalker, I would highly recommend the Wildcat MKII .30 for your coon hunting adventures...I have owned one since the beginning of this year and have lots of experience with it.

It comes out of the box shooting the JSB 44.75 grain pellets at about 70 fpe, and can be tuned to shoot those pellets at 88 fpe or the JSB 50 grain pellets at 90 fpe. (foot pounds energy). The Wildcat .30 is very light, easy to handle, points naturally, is beautiful to look at, and an absolute tack driver! Get one with the synthetic stock with the soft touch grippy finish for those nights when it is drizzling and a slippery finish is not an option.

For an optic on this beauty I recommend the Bushnell 4X Accelerate Prism Sight...it is all you will ever need for your close range coon hunting out to 50 yards...I have one of these on my Wildcat .25 and love it. The reticle lights up at many different brightness levels in green or red. Here is a link I found for you to see the sight and its reticle...https://www.ebay.com/p/Bushnell-AR750010-Matte-Black-4x-Illuminated-Btr-3-Reticle-Red-Dot-Sight/5008885122

After re-reading what I just wrote I really wish I hadn't sold my Wildcat .30 last week! I miss her already! 😥

All the best, Chuck

P.S. Allow me to put in a plug here for Palm Beach Airguns.com...after several negative experiences with other dealers over the years I highly recommend this company for all your airgun related needs. They answer the phone when you call... and from then on PBA does everything possible to make you a happy customer with prompt service and fast free shipping. Its the only place I do business for anything involving this hobby these days!

Best regards, Chuck

What is wrong with the plastic? It is lighter, no rust, easy to replace, cheaper, the strongness is more that enough for the tasks.

100 kg pulled up with the plastic butt of Leshiy:

You need more? Why?!

Plastic trigger, I found out it is more comfortable to use in the cold weather, in comparison to metal one.

You say plastic is cheap! Yes, I've paid over 50 000 USD for the mold to make synthetics stocks for Matador. Really cheap, yes?

It is nice to see responses and inputs direct from manufacturers and their representatives. The forum is better for it. However, with regards to plastics in airguns, I think one needs to be concerned with the customer perceptions of quality and the use of non-metal parts, since this has long been an issue in many industries. What customers have seen is that as cost-cutting ensues, plastic components creep in where metal had been (sometimes for decades), and often durability is seen to decline.

With the trigger in particular, as a critical part of the human-to-gun interface, using plastic here is risky no matter how comfortable it is. Some companies go as far as to gold plate the trigger to project an image of quality. High end airguns, which cost more than most firearms, need to not only be solid and functional, but also present a feel of precision and lasting character when held in the hands.

I will definitely be purchasing the synthetic stock you guys watch the videos of ed and the family and friends test these things lol. I love it 😄 . But as for me personally any internal such as trigger or bearings I will probably change them to metal on my personal air guns. Just a preference for me. The new stocks will allow me to save the looks of the laminate haha.

I am seriously influenced by the fact that Ed cares and takes the time to get feedback from us here on the forums. That is huge in my book. I have emailed other manufacturers to no avail with extremely slow responses if any. I can definitely see more edguns in my small collection of fun and hunting rifles in the near future maybe a month haha. I am impressed to say the least.

Thank you Ed! 😜💪

I think the problem most of us have with plastic parts is, they are said to save money, but we see increasing prices anyway. My perception is less quality for more money. The only one who ends up with more money is the manufacturer; the savings are never passed on to the consumer. My wife has sold plastic for over 30 years and even she will admit that in most cases plastic becomes brittle over time. It is nice to know Ed is a manufacturer who will at least listen to and consider our suggestions. We do understand that he cannot please everyone.

I used to like edguns
But after a lot of issues i change my mind (a little)
Excelent metal

Heavy structure

Revolutionary design

Reg without creep even after 5 days

I compare this gun with the elit of cource

So, i dont like at the top category, plastic mags with the excuse of sizing the pellets

The accuracy is for hunting, not for target shooting

In my case i open the box and i saw a broken stock, after 1 month with a lot complains around forums i get a new one, i dont care who is responsible, the greek importer, the spain distributor or edgun
Another gun came as 5.5 but the barrel was 6.35

Another one had issues with loading because of wrong indexing plate in the block

Another needs to open and screw the reg because shots like unreg

I have still spiriling problems
I open the mags for better loading, open the silencer from 8 to 9mm and think i solved the spiriling

Even for ST i have to took the stock off ( i can leave with that)

A gun like that year after year has to be better not plastic

I understand the cost of the mold, but for the costomer is just a plastic stock free of meantence, all the other companies sold the plastic even 200-300 € less than walnut or laminate that means is an investment from you to sell your guns cheaper

I guess it is just to each there own= opinions likes and dislikes as well. It's not like the fx is trouble free lol. reg creep , bent liners , plastic stocks that have and do break, stripped screws, adjustment nuts backing out bent liners blah blah blah and so on, lol . I still like my FX airguns. I am leaning more towards the edguns myself lol. I own both of course. I am definitely more of a hunter ,pest-ing , plinker , than a competition shooter by far haha. Just me to each their own. I actually feel personally there are more pesting hunter fun plinker types than the other but I have been known to be wrong haha. So no worries here 😉
